OT - Proud dad

Had to share these with my Canadian friends. My DS has been fortunate enough to get the chance to work as a batboy for our AAA baseball team here in Ottawa. "The boy" lives, eats, breathes and sleeps baseball so this is HUGE for him.

At attention, during the US national anthem.

Working the "home" dugout with manager John Russell and future Philadelphia catcher Jason Jaramillo.

Retrieving a foul ball.

Getting punk'd by a Charlotte Knights coach. He's giving Zak the "keys" to the batters box and telling him to run them over. The batter's box, of course, doesn't require keys (it's an area painted on the field). When he got there, they'd send him back to the Charlotte dugout for more details. This went on for a while before he caught on. Occassionally they'll stick gum on his helmet when he's not looking, or ask him to get the bag with the curve balls in it.

He's having the time of his life!

Lovely story, we'll look out for Zak next time we're at the Lynx. We had a great day out there last month and said that we'd repeat it, you've just encouraged me to go and look at the schedule. Now, if I could only understand all the rules - this coming from a girl who understands Cricket

How great for your son! I'm actually quite jealous as when I was a teenager I desparately wanted to be a batboy for the Jays -- even looked into it but couldn't be one because I was a girl!

Now you need to draw him over to the HOCKEY world and maybe get him in as a stick boy for the 67's and then work his way up to the Sens.
