OT - Prayers and Pixie Dust for DisHokie and her baby!

Pixie Dust and prayers to DisHokie!!! You and your baby will do just fine :thumbsup2 Be well!!!! Take care!!!

Sending you :goodvibes
The bedrest can be very boring, so make sure you have plenty to keep you busy (hum, perhaps like the DIS)

Lots of good thoughts being sent your way! Hopefully mommy and baby will be healthy and happy!

Did they give an estimate on how big baby will be?

My son was delivered by c-section at 30 weeks. I remember being so upset about the nursery not being ready, not having a baby shower yet, not being able to attend child birth class, etc. I soon discovered that the most important thing is to have a healthy baby - the rest really doesn't really matter. God will carry you through the days ahead. My son's lowest weight was 2 1/2 pounds. He's now a healthy 9 year old without a care in the world. Stay strong and focus on the miracle of birth.

Another poster here sending your friend positive thoughts.

I, too, wanted to add my story to help reassure your friend that everything will be fine. My DD was born at 33 weeks, 0 days, after my water broke at 32 1/2 weeks unexpectedly. She was 5 lbs, in the NICU for a week and is in the 99th percentile for height and weight.

I am now pregnant with #2 at 30 weeks and I have my fingers crossed that I make it to term this time around.

I know, however, that the stress can be incredibly difficult -- even after the baby is born and is fine. I think I suffered from post-traumatic stress syndrome from the experience for the 1st year after my daughter was born.

Good luck!

My water broke 6 years ago today at 34 weeks. My son was 5lbs 8oz and only spent one day in the NICU. He was home in 72 hours. His birthday is tomorrow and he is a happy, healthy little boy. I will keep you both in my prayers.

Today is the 34 week mark right? How are things going for you? I hope everything is great!!

Not that anything anyone will say will set your mind at ease...but know that there are tons of others that have gone through your exact situation. After 3 weeks of strict at home bed rest followed by six weeks at the hospital, DW delivered a 4 lb 8 oz monster of a boy at 32 weeks. We were told at 28 weeks by her specialist that their job was to get her to 32 weeks. After that, the chances of severe problems are dramatically lower. Every day she can keep that kid in is one more day of growing and developing. Definately check out the NICU if offered. DW was to sick to get down there and after delivery, it was a scary place. But after living there for three weeks while DS grew, I realized that it is a place where miracles (and friends) are made. I'm from a small town 45 minutes from our top quality hospital. Just by chance, a family from the same town was in the nursery next to my sons after he was delivered. Thoughts and prayers going out to you.:wizard::grouphug::flower3:

Been on bedrest since 22 weeks, only 4 more to go. Whoohoo. From one bedrest mama to another :grouphug:

thanks everyone! we reached 34 weeks today! which was our original goal.. at this point the baby looks great and we just want it to keep growing inside for now :) we are just waiting in the hospital til the baby decides to make an appearance.. but now that we reached that magic 34 mark, i'm feeling much better!

Thanks for all the support! we're holding on strong, bored, but have some amazing friends visiting, calling and keeping us entertained!

Just wanted to chime in some pixie dust. Congratulations on that HUGE 34 week milestone. :cheer2::cheer2:

Wishing you all the best!!

I was on hospital bedrest for about 12 days with my last one. Had preclampsia but was stable. She was born right at 36 weeks because my blood cells tanked. She was perfectly healthy and never even needed to go to the nicu. Just take this time to rest, watch a lot of tv and read a few books. In hindsight truthfully it was a nice little rest break. I already had two small ones at home. Good luck and stay relaxed!

My 36 1/2 weeker just graduated from high school as valedictorian and is going to MIT - keep up the good work DisHokie, and if they are still giving you the steroid shots, good luck! Give a woman a steroid, which gives you tons of energy and the desire to do stuff, and then tell her she has to stay in bed - cruel, cruel, cruel!

My DD#2 was almost born at 25 weeks - water broke, rushed by ambulance to fancy city hospital, blasted steroid shots, ultrasound measured her at 12 ounces. :scared1: Little bugger changed her mind and stayed put. Five weeks in the hospital, six weeks on bedrest at home, up and about, 4 days past her due date she finally makes her appearance at 7 lbs 2 ounces... She was born with a (fixed) birth defect in one eye, but the rest of her is 100% healthy!

Dishokie, hope you go at least another two weeks and you have a wonderful, healthy, beautiful baby!

34 weeks and 1 day! still holding on.. i ruptured one week ago today.. (although didn't know until Saturday).. no news is good news

:goodvibes

I so remember counting down the days, when they thought DS5 would be coming around 25 weeks!Everyday makes such a big difference!Keep up the great work mum,bed rest is not alot of fun,but like I said before so worth it.
:goodvibes

Happy thoughts and prayers for you and your family! I went on bed rest with my son at 34 weeks and delivered at 37. Bed rest is boring, but you are doing good stuff for the little one.

When he or she grows up, make sure you rub it in every chance you get! :rotfl:
