Quick question - anyone have experience mixing powdered formula in these? Do the liners hold up well? We used Dr. Brown's with our first and don't have any experience with these bottles.
TIA:)

I used them with both my ds and they worked fine. No problems with the liners and powdered formula! I LOVE the Playtex liners cause you can just throw them away....not very 'eco' friendly now that I think about it.....and not owrry baout rinisng them if you are out somewhere.

I never used them for formula, but they worked great for breastmilk. I loved that the liners were always clean! I didn't have to stress about how clean the bottle might or might not be getting in the dishwasher because I KNEW the liner was sterile!

These are great! I used them with both breastmilk and powdered formula, never had a problem.

We just switched to Playtex from Dr. Browns before our trip in May. DS (8months) had used Dr. Browns since birth and we weren't sure he would take to the new bottles. He would also only use the Medela nipples. What a world of difference it is not having to wash so many parts. I was a little concerned about mixing formula in them as well, but it has worked perfectly so far. The cap holds the nipple down so it doesn't leak at all. With Dr. Browns we had to make sure we had that disk thingy in or else formula would spill everywhere. The playtex bottles are great.

You want to stay away from Playtex or any plastic bottle containing BPA. The only BPA free bottle is Born Free. If I had to do it over again, it would definitely be with Born Free.

Sorry this is incorrect.. Nursers are BPA free

http://www.playtexbaby.com/bpafree/Playtex_FAQ_Bisphenol_A_Phthalates.pdf Info about Playtex products.. NONE of their products contain that stuff.. I don't even know what it is.. honestly I'm sure my others had bottles with it.. I have no clue what it is.

I am using these bottles too, and LOVE them!! With DS I used the Avent bottles, but I was nervous about the BPA, so I use these with DD. They are the only bottle that I can get her to actually take when I am not BF!!

The liners hold up great! There aren't seems that they could split at or anything, so you're safe.

FYI: Playtex has recently switched to 10-ounce "expandable" liners. All of the old bottles only have 8-ounce-liner markings on them and the new ones (that I've come across) have marking for both types of liners. You can no longer find 8-ounce Playtex-brand liners, but Target makes some that I think work just as well. (I did buy a grocery store brand that I thought was awful - not sure if I can say what kind.) There are also markings on the liners, but I find them hard to read, so I've been using the Target liners with all my old bottles from DS for my DD. For making formula, I would think the 10-ounce would be preferable, since you can put the 8 ounces of water + the powder in and have room to mix.

We use the Avent disposable bottles we switched from the Dr Browns also. These are great much better than the playtex ones I have use those also. DS is less gassy and they hold up really well.

I have used Playtex nursers with all of my 4 children (oldest is 18, youngest is 8mos). I used them for pumped breastmilk which worked great for freezing it and I also mix the powdered formula in them with no problems. They are very easy and convienent to use and you can push all the excess air out of the bag before feeding baby and they get much less air than regular bottles. I have bought the Walmart brand liners also and they hold us just as well.
