OT: Personalized Books for Kids

Has anyone ever ordered one of those books that is personalized with your childs name? We received a flyer for one in with the coupons (this one is happy kids publications). I think my dd would like it, but am wondering about the quality. It is $9.95 + $2.95 s&h. Not a ton of money, but I don't want to throw money away either. Thanks for any feedback or recommendations.

Not sure if it will be the same books as I'm in scotland but we have several personalised books and the kids love them. Our favourite is the christmas adventure and we have to read it on christmas eve, the kids think its wonderful. We also have Cars, Toy story and the birthday one. I have also ordered the princess one for DD's christmas.

I just ordered the Cars personalized book from the Disney store a couple of days ago. I can remember having a couple of these books as a child and I loved them. I still have one of the books, actually. I don't know how they are now(still waiting for mine to come), but my guess is that they are like any of the other paperbacks out for children. Not the best quality,but pretty durable...and the child will LOVE seeing himself in the stroy!

Last Christmas I ordered a personalized book for dd (I think from Shutterfly). It was really cool, because in addition to her name, it also put her picture in every scene doing different activities. She loved her book and I think it is one of the neatest things I have ever given her!! I can't remember the price, but it was worth every dime.

So this is a storybook from shutterfly with your child's name/picture? I have gotten the book from them where you put your pictures and add text, but didnt' realize you could get a storybook. I'll look at this also. THanks.
