Flight prices are ridiculous right now aren't they!! With having a chat with our friends yesterday about a possible WDW trip for christmas 2010/11 I looked up flight prices for the approximate dates we would need to travel. Over £1000 a ticket (and we would need 4!!)
I don't see why FL tickets are so expensive all of a sudden!

Jack and I were deciding our big 2010 plans yesterday and it was 90% Tokyo 10% WDW and then looking at the flight prices alone we are a couple 100 £s cheaper to fly to japan with emirates and return via dubai for a couple of days than just fly to florida, which is half the flying time!

Crazy!

It seems to depend on when you're flying...

I was just pricing up a possible California trip in March...

Flights alone were about £800 I think, so I played with Flight + Hotel and got prices between £600 and £1000 depending on the day of the week I flew.

It was the same when I went last week - my flight plan of (excuse the airport codes here, it's just much easier and quicker) LHR - SEA, SEA - SNA, LAX - LHR was only £50 more than my colleague's flight plan of LHR - SEA, SEA - LHR. This was simply because of the date of our return flights.

Yeah, I know it depends where you are flying to and if you can be flexible with your dates. Unfortunately we can't be flexible with the dates, we have to go in school holidays and so have to pay peak prices. Still over £1000 (actually it was looking at £1300) a ticket is a lot. Last time we went at Christmas we paid £700 a ticket.

Oh I forgot to add that we have to book flight only as we stay DVC.

Wierd innit!

We were cheaper to do LHR-LAS, LAX-LHR than jsut a straight LHR-LASorLAX return and do a double internal flight!

Also for the emirates flights earlier.

LHR-Dubai-Osaka/Osaka-Dubai(stayover)-LHR = £1100 for the two of us

LHR-Dubai-Honk kong (stayover)-Osaka/Osaka-Dubai(stayover)-LHR =

wait for it

£17,000! It only like an extra hour flight!

Someone who was charging it to their company!

Or someone in goverment who our taxes pay the flights for!

Its a shame as I'd love to go to hong kong...

And I have been planning my maths lesson for my class tomorrow.

I think we might get a new thread soon - we are getting towards the end of this one

Evening all

At the moment I have 2 kids running about my living room in their underwear singing Its a Small World - anybody know how I can calm them down :lmao:
