Their hair is HORRIBLE.

If you're looking for a less ex*****ive option to American Girl, check Tuesday Morning stores for a Gotz/Goetz doll. (Usually around $30). They are the original maker of the AGs, same size and all.

I think they're not a bad choice for a "practice" doll for a very young child, but there is a massive difference in quality from the OG to the AG. DD got her first AG doll 2 years ago, plays pretty rough with her (she has ASD) and the doll still looks great.

I love the madame alexander dolls from Toys R us. My sisters are really rough on toys and theres are still doing great (4 years later)
