thinking of going to Ocean City, MD. Anyone know of any good hotels on the ocean that won't break the bank??? Any advice would be appreciated.

There are tons of hotels in Oc. We go every year for two weeks. You can get cheaper hotels off the boardwalk but we prefer to be right there in all the action. I love the Holiday Inn and Suites on 17th Street. Yes, it is pricey but the waterpark pool is fantastic!

Have you checked Skyauction Ready Set Go auctions for your dates? They have condos available in the off season.

Skyauction is a great idea. There are usually some great deals off season. Or, try the new Hilton Oceanfront. The Lighthouse Club Hotel is nice, but it's on the bay (great sunsets!)

Last summer we stayed at the Nassau Motel and it was one of the best there, but its now torn down, and condos are being built, however, 2 years ago we stayed at the Beachmark and that was also nice. Very very reasonable rates during the summer! Nothing fancy, but clean. It has one of the largest pools in OC and its in a good location. Within walking distance to restaurants, and across the street from the OC transit busline, which is great to use instead of your car. You will also love their boardwalk. Its one of the cleaniest I have ever seen, and there is a place called "Seacrets" that although very touristy, can be lots of fun, but children are restricted to outdoor dining areas only. After dark, the place becomes a haven for adults and plenty of partying, but we prefer the daytime hours, more relaxed. Have Fun!!!:cool1:

The Hilton is very nice...but I believe it is pretty pricey. It even was in the off season for April for a cheerleading competition. We are only 30 minutes from OC. I would stick with some of the larger named hotels myself.

I would have to agree!!! We have stayed there several time- they are really nice. I have gone there every summer of my life and I am now 37. It is a wonderful place, but I will say that it is getting more and more expensive. Sometimes I actually pay less for my Disney vacation!!!!! ANyway I hope you have a wonderful time, my family and I always do.

We vacationed many times at Ocean City, MD. If you are going as a family for a week or more, the best thing is to rent a condo. I prefer the northern part, but is is personal preference. There is so much to do and OC is a great place.
