You'd be better off waiting until you get back DLRP anyway- Then you could tame it easier and get it used to you.... :goodvibes

I would recommend a cage like this if you go for Chinese Dwarf Hamster like Link:

http://www.petsathome.com/find/keyword-is-cages/product-is-14064

You need to get certain sorts of cage because they are so small they can easily squeeze through the bars... The above is the cage Link has. He's got loads of space to run around in, and loads of room for all his toys!! :goodvibes

Would you want a Chinese Dwarf Hamster, or would you go for something else?

Will you four either grow up (yes, even you Small World), or take your argument back where it belongs - into the thread hijacking thread :rotfl: .

And if you can't follow my suggestion, then someone with some actual power may come along and poof your argument anyway, so :p.

Adults

My god, I actually have some power? :confused3 Wish someone would tell that to the kids and the dogs ....... oh yes and the hubby too! :rotfl:

A polite reminder :teeth: believe it or not this is supposed to be the Cafe Mickey Review thread ;) so please could your discussions about Tigger go on to the OT one in future. :goodvibes

And to solve any arguments over Tigger just accept he's mine been there done that got the Tshirts to prove it!! :tigger:

I had a syrian (most popular) type os hamster and he was lovely. :)

We bought him a rotastack home halfways through his 2 year life and he hated it so we had to switch back to his old fashioned type.

I was sad to take the pink tube-tastic one back but he jsut hated it, so dont try and move a hamster used to a cage into a tubey one after a year or so is my hamster advice!

I tend to find Rotastack cages are terrible.... Conors hamster had one and it was terrible! It had a built in water bottle that flooded the cage!!

I don't like the tubey cages anyway..... Hamsters can get stuck in them quite easily..... I think a good thick layer of sawdust does the trick because they can dig tunnels like they would in the wild. Toilet roll tubes are alright because they can chew through those if they need to.....

My cousin had a syrian hamster when he was younger. Unfortunately, it didn't take very well to the taming process, so it used to bite :sad2:

They're very sweet animals though and not too expensive to look after either.

You'd have to be very misguided to think you'd never get bitten once by a hamster in the taming process.... It's pretty much guaranteed that you'll get at least one bite.

Mine is expensive to look after, but thats because I spoil him hopelessly..... He's got two boxes (big boxes) full of food and toys, nibble sticks, vitamins, etc. Then he's got his Pod for when he needs to travel, and lemon scented bedding...... :cloud9: I love my hamster!

Ah no, they tried very hard with the taming process and it never did tame properly unfortunately...

At least there is a taming process though... You can't tame most fish, which means buy something poisonous and you have to wear gloves every time you clean the tank out just in case.
