OT-"Mac" experts please help (URGENT)

Tonight in the middle of DD writing a paper that must be turned in Monday, Word 2008 freezes up and quits. (Oh yeah, why should that be a surprise it's a MICROSOFT product.) Anyway...

Why?!?

We have an iMac that is a little over a year old running with Mac OS X, our Word is "Microsoft Word 2008 for Mac", Version 12.1.3 (080930), latest installed update is 12.1.3 .

You should be able to go into Time Machine and get the document at the last place it was captured for saving. Install Open Office which is compatable with the Microsoft product and you should be able to continue.

We've been able to save it as she's been going along, but the aggravation of the program freezing-up is beyond annoying. We just downloaded the latest update for Word and it seems to be more stable right now... I Googled "Mac Word crashing" and got a LOT of hits. Apparently Word does this a lot...who woulda thunk it eh?

We'll probably try your fix at some point, thanks.
