OT: LOST fans?

I just watched last night's episode. It really seems like the FLocke has alluded that he needs all the possible replacements for Jacob together for him to get off the island. And the Michael remark makes you think the island is some kind of halfway between Heaven and Hell. And his remarks about being sorry refer to the choice he made?

So, I went back and read the wiki on Paradise Lost. In the poem it has God and Satan-Good and Evil fighting. Satan calls the fallen angels to posts to carry out his evil deeds. He even appeared as a serpent. It also talks of God gave man the ability to do as he chose, even if the outcome was sin. Interesting similarities.

Did Desmond run over Locke so the he couldn't become FLocke in the parallel? I'm getting confused on which parallel is reality and which is not. Are they all dead and working in the "Limbo"? And is Desmond going to turn the wheel in the well? The wheel is in the well, right?

And is Desmond going to turn the wheel in the well? The wheel is in the well, right?

I don't believe there is a wheel in the well. The wheel is in the well by the Orchid station...This well is in the middle of nowhere

I don't think it would be as simple as God vs Satan. I also don't know if Jacob is as "innocent" as he's told the castaways.

No new episode on April 27th according to episode guides = bummer.

On 4/27 they will repeat Richard's recent episode.

There are new episodes on: (Highlight for episode names)
4/20 The Last Recruit
5/4 The Candidate
5/11 Across The Sea
5/18 What They Died For
and the finale is on 5/23 The End

thanks!

i thought they said they wouldn't have any missed weeks this season...liars....

What happened was that the finale was scheduled to air on Sunday 5/23, and there was going to be no episode on Tuesday, 5/18. Due to (I think) a production delay, the no episode week was just moved to 4/27, and 6x16 will air on 5/18 instead.

i just noticed you wrote that the finale is on a sunday....why the day change?

ughhhhhh!

More questions!

The creators said it wasn't purgatory and that the losties were not dead. My DH says limbo is not purgatory? they said it wasn't heaven or hell either.

This is soooo frustrating. But that's why we love it. And does anyone wonder if Jacob is really the bad boy, not the Man in Black?

They both seem to kill a ton of people is what I've been noticing.

But Jacob doesn't kill people needlessly like MIB. It seems all Jacobs action are to bring the people to the island that can prevent the MIB from ever leaving. The MIB tears through the temple and kills everyone needlessly, not to mention the old ship that Ricardo came on, etc. Also, we have never seen evidence of MIB being off the island yet Jacob can travel off the island whenever he wants. Also, Jacob's touch means something, whereas we have not seen MIB having those powers, yet Jacob seems (as well as those that may be able to replace him) to have the power over MIB or at least to keep him on the island. The names of the future episodes allude to a lot. So there will be one final candidate? And a reason they all died? Will it be to keep MIB on the island and if so why? If the MIB is the good guy that would be a major twist! What would happen to the world if MIB got off the island?

But what about Jacob (through Richard and Ben) wiping out all of the Dharma? That seemed kind of needless to me...:confused3

Do we know for sure that it was Jacob who told Ben to kill the Dharma? Ben complained Jacob ignored him and it was Ben who decided one side must go between the Others and the Dharma. And Ben obviously had bad feelings for them since he left?

Do we know how Ben killed Jacob? What was the loophole the MIB found?

We know that Ben killed Jacob because Ghost Jacob came and talked to Hurley...I'm not sure of the loophole he found, because supposedly you could only kill one of the two of them if you did it before they spoke to you...and Jacob spoke before Ben killed him...So I'm not sure what's up with that...

My understanding of the Dharma wipe-out was that it was arranged by Richard with Ben...Richard was definitely a large part of it at least...

Does anyone else think this is just weird. Why do you have to kill him before he speaks to you. Kinda lame. And do we know that this applies to both the MIB and Jacob or..... maybe just MIB

My understanding of the Dharma wipe-out was that it was arranged by Richard with Ben...Richard was definitely a large part of it at least...

And from the Richard centric epi, he was very loyal to Jacob all these years. Richard might be working for MIB now (at least that's what I think)

What if the loophole has something to do with Ben being one of the guardian's of the island working for Jacob. Jacob's followers are the only ones that can kill him. Ben killed Jacob because he was thought he was following Locke's orders. Locke was "the one". In reality, locke was Smoke Monster. Or maybe I'm waaaayy off. This series kills me!

What if MIB gets off the island and finally frees all the souls of the ghosts on the island. I can't remember who it was that said none of us would exist if MIB got off the island. What if everyone is already dead on the island? Everyone is meeting in sideways timeline now. It's like the final destination movie concept. You can't escape your fate no matter how hard to try. Everyone dies so a new timeline can start up and it fixes all the evil that happened. It's like rebooting a computer. And everyone starts with a clean slate. Maybe destroying the island is a good thing? Hope I'm making sense!

But if everyone is trying to fix the evil that's been done, how is destroying the island a good thing? Because it stops all the new timelines? If the island doesn't exist then perhaps Smoke Monster gets out into the world? That seems like a bad thing...

I like your take on the loophole. That makes sense, that only one of the candidates can kill Jacob? And Jacob said something about "free will". Many of the references in Lost are about Free Will.

So Jacob could make Richard not age because it's not real anyway, so Jacob can control the island reality, but he couldn't bring his wife back because she was "already gone"? If they're already dead on the island and the smoke monster kills them that means they're doubly dead? Maybe the smoke monster kills them so they can pass over-out of the island world and to the "afterworld".

But there's something about the electromagnetic radiation that's important. Because it will turn out that the candidates will be able to withstand the Electromagnetism. So was Juliet a candidate? -----I just checked and she is on the wall #58. Something about all of these that are left and shifting will have to do with the power to withstand EM????

Just rambling here...
