Wow I haven't been on here since my Dads wedding. I am loving Carrie Cats update photos!
Ive had such a hectic week. The night before Dad's wedding I was outside and I didn't see a step and I fell down it and hurt my ankle. I put it straight in iced water and we all hoped it was just a bit of a sprain... But it swelled up pretty quickly!
The next morning my ankle was bruised and huge and the pain was excruciating! Dad said he would have to bring me to hospital for an xray! This was 5 hours before the wedding!!! So he said we would go to A&E in the private hospital because God only knows how long we would have been if we went to the public one!
So we got to Galway clinic and explained what had happened and told the lady that Dad was getting married at 2pm (it was actually 3 but I still had to go and get my hair and make up done so this little white lie was justified!).
They were absolutely fantastic! A nurse saw me straight away to check blood pressure etc and then a doctor saw me who sent me to the x-ray department straight away. The porter who wheeled me down to the x-ray dept was lovely. She checked me in there and explained how Dad was getting married and withing 2 minutes I was being wheeled to the x-ray theatre skipping the 10 or so people waiting for an x-ray! I was finished in there within a few minutes and was brought back to A&E.
Thankfully nothing was broken, I had just damaged my ligaments. They gave me painkillers, a difene injection and a prescription for more difene and the wrapped my ankle up. Then they gave my a shiny pair of crutches! Unfortunately the didn't match my dress!
I was delighted that nothing was broken but I ended up wearing my vans instead of my lovely heels... Luckily enough my dress was full length so nobody could see them
It did put a spoiler on the day as the castle where we were was amazing and I only made it to the top once on the night when we arrived.. before I fell.. I was really disappointed about that because it was just so beautiful but there was no way I was going to chance going up the spiral staircase incase I did more damage. But I had such an amazing time. I work part time in a hotel in the town where I live to fund college and my to keep my Disney fund account afloat, and I always work at the weddings there and I have to say that Dad's wedding was miles ahead of any wedding that I have worked at and I have worked at about 800 weddings! There was such a relaxed amazing atmosphere it was beautiful!
To add to my eventful week, I wont go into too much detail but my aunt also died (I knew this would happen soon, she had anorexia and I have only seen her 2 times in the last 10 years, she was quite sick and we all knew that she was beginning to lose the strength she had for so long)... And my little cousin was christened (this was a nice uplift for my mams family and a nice way to end a sad week for her and her sisters and brother).
