It's huge and puffy with a big satin bow on the back.

Very not at all what I wanted, and thought I'd hate and think was tacky - but so stunning in the flesh!!!

I always thought a massive puffy meringue would be awful looking but I just LOVE it.

Morning everyone,
I had a great time at my nephews party yesterday, although I spent 5 hours washing up at the kitchen sink!!! My MIL annoyed me a bit though as she told me I shouldn't be going back to America for another holiday again and that I should go somewhere in Europe instead. When I said we didn't want to do that she just replied, "Well you should do!" Do I comment to her on their 3 times a year taking their caravan to remote parts of Scotland and tell them they should go somwehere else instead?
Needless to say I don't think my inlaws will ever be coming on a Disney holiday with us, especially one to America!!

Oh dear bet that went down well !!! Anyway what difference does it make to your MIL? If it is your money and you prefer America (which is much cheaper than Europe) then go for it!

We go every year to Cyprus (if we can afford it) and people say "why don't you try somewhere else" - the way I see it we love Cyprus, the weather, the people and save all year to go where WE want!! We went to another country once and spent the whole two weeks not enjoying it and wishing we were in Cyprus!

Go book your America holiday!!!

My MIL's reasoning was that the flights were too expensive, but that is something we have to put up with when we can only travel in the school holidays and something we expect. It's not like we book trips without having the money, we only book when the money is in the bank to pay for it and we only go to America every 2 - 3 years. Besides, the last holiday we took was in Europe, we went to DLRP!!

its none of her business - its not like she pays for them travelling in holidays everything is expensive anyhow!!

so glad we dont get that from my mil - but then, they have so many holidays and so does sil, they cannot comment about our very few dlrp ones!!!! and its lookin less likely we will get one this yr as dhs project has been delayed 15months so atm he technically has nothin to work on - company say they want to keep him, so am really hoping they do - as he only started there last month - and then the whole country went t*ts up and major recession and bad news

Ignore her, if you work hard & save why not reward yourself with something you enjoy. I remember a couple of years ago my mum said I couldn't buy another motorbike. She soon kept quiet when I said what is the point of going to work if I can't spend some of the money I have earned.

Like you say wherever you go in school holidays are expensive and to be honest I do not think America is much dearer to get to than Europe. You work hard and it is nice to have something you want to do to look forward to!
