I'm dreading getting up early for school run tomorrow. I wish i had chosen the afternoon session for Kyra rather than the early one lol.
Hello!Hi everyonehope you dont mind me coming into this thread, i keep saying the posts going up quite a lot
thought i would have a peek.
I assume this is just a general chit chat thread.....well ive got a 14mth old boy and i have people saying to me that its time he started potty training?? but others are telling me he is still to young(Harrison is my first child so im all new to this
)
so for all you mothers out there, when did you start the dreaded potty training?
Hello!
I'm not a mum yet, but have 2 nephews, ones 3 and one is 16 months.
The 3 year old has jsut about finished his trinaing now, but they only started to train him about 6 months or so ago, and they aren;t yet considering it with the 16 month old.
Every child is different and my Sister in Law used to work in a nursery so she knew when the right time was her her son and he's done great, no point rushing them into something they aren't ready for.
I think they just need to be trained in time for starting nusery/pre school.

It doesn't hurt to have a potty in the bathroom so he can get used to it being there, and maybe sit on it before he has a bath if he wants to
Sorry, gone on a bit thereFor me personally, I would say wait till he's a bit older (at least 2 or at least until he kind of starts showing an interest or telling you that he's done a wee or poo in his nappy).
Woohoo! Not long been off the phone to Robert, and we've decided to go to our fave pub for dinner tonight... I'm sick of working on my dissertation so I decided to take us out to eat!

The only problem I did have was with my son's bowel movements. For a few weeks he was very reluctant to go and would wait until he absolutely HAD to (would run round for an hour or two humming when it got urgent - but refusing to go until it was DESPERATE) but I understand this is not unusual. Certainly the GP wasn't worried and gave us a mild laxative to help him along and the phase soon passed. (As he is now 16 he will hate me for telling you that!)

Yummy menu, I hope you have a great meal.
