(Not totally OT, since if I get this job, I'll be able to afford my WDW trips...)

I may have a job interview in Albuqurque,New Mexico in the next few weeks, but I won't know for sure until 4-8 days out, most likely. It would probably be an overnight trip only, on a weekday. I would be able to fly out of Milwaukee or Chicago, but can't figure out a way around high prices since it would be a "last minute" type flight. Any help from you travel experts would be much appreciated. TIA!

Terri

You could try a site like Lastminutetravel.com, or this sounds like a perfect time for Priceline. Research fares first, see what you come up with, then offer Priceline about 40% less. Remember, your bid won't include taxes or fees - PL will add them on after/if it accepts your bid.
ALSO remember to allow an extra day at each end of your trip, since you can't pick your flight times. And of course, you could always try Southwest if they fly to Albuquerque.

For a Job interview, you are going to want a non-stop flight if possible. As far as I know, the non-stops from Chicagoland to ABQ are on Southwest, American and United (two a day each way for each airline). I don't know how they rate for low last minute fares, but it may pay to track a few flight combinations over the next few weeks and see how they move.

Good luck!

Thanks to you both, I'm watching, and it looks like about$275 nonstop if I know a week or more out. I'm a nervous nellie, so would like the nonstop, since this interview is important! Anyone else?!?
Thanks!
Terri

You know, the other thing too, if you can afford the ticket anyway... purchase now on Southwest (assuming you know the date/s of your potential interview). At the VERY worst, if you have to cancel, you can apply the full value towards the purchase of another ticket within a year of the original purchase.
