Hi everyone,

Three college friends and myself are going to meet up in Lancaster for a weekend in October.

Any hotel suggestions? The Revere Inn and the Country Inn and Suites came up in our conversations. We are looking to have a fun girls weekend, perhaps take in a tourist site or two (the Quilt Museum looks interesting as well as President Buchanan's home), maybe hit the outlet mall, and just catch up.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I've stayed at the Strasburg Inn a couple times, it was nice but the last time was about 5yrs ago. You can try tripadvisor.com for ratings. Gotta love the Shady Maple Smorgasbord, you can google it. Lots of fabulous comfort food! Kitchen Kettle Village is fun for a little shopping. The town of Lititz is really cute, I would love to spend a day there. Home of Wilbur Chocolate--YUM!
Have fun!

Our favorite is Willow Valley Resort. :cool1: My son chooses going there for the night every year over a birthday party. :banana:Don't know how many are going and how many sharing room. But ask about the suites in the Centre Building. There is one room 115 next to the pool that has a bedroom with 2 queens and a sleeper sofa in the living room area. This suite only has one bathroom but a larger front room. They have other suites that have 2 bathrooms. They have regular rooms as well. But their suites are very reasonably priced. willowvalley.com is website but if you are interested in center suites call them. If you are their on a Sunday- YOU MUST HAVE THEIR SUNDAY BRUNCH! Plan to talk and eat for hours!!!!:love:As a matter of fact we will be there a weekend in October. :woohoo::woohoo:

i stayed at the red carpet inn in ronks pa. it was basic, but clean and i liked the location. it was off a main road but when you walked down to the end of the building there was a farm right behind us. we only stayed one night and got in late and up early though so im not sure for a few days, but it was very quiet and convienent without being on that horrible noisy highway.

since its a girls weekend if you drink i reccommend nissley vinyards. it has a self guided tour and free tastings. my other favorite thing was we did a morning buggy ride with abes buggy rides, very friendly and they have a AAA discount.

DH and I just stayed a night at the Lancaster Arts Hotel . . . not sure what you're looking for but it is very close to the downtown arts district with lots of fun places to check out. It is an upscale, classy place and a little bit on the expensive side (check out Expedia for deals though) but well worth it. Restaurant/bar onsite was fantastic . . . great entertainment and a fun place to hang out.

Thanks everyone! I love the vineyard suggestion and will look into the other hotels suggested.

NJFabFour, I did look into the Lancaster Arts Hotel, but it's booked solid for the weekend we'll be there. I'm sure we'll check out the adjacent brewhouse for lunch :thumbsup2

It always amazes me to see on here my own area being talked about on such a big board! ;) Yes, I live in Lancaster County! :D

A little bit of a hike - but not too far is The Hotel Hershey. Just stayed there for girl's weekend and it was awesome!

We loved the Best Western Eden Resort. Much nicer than a typical Best Western!

Thanks again everyone! We booked a rental home "Das Haus" in Intercourse, right next the the Kitchen Kettle Village. Very cute looking house, great rate ($150 a night I think? Two nights, divided by four of us, so good deal), and the website said the house was featured in the movie "Witness"?

www.intercoursepalodging.com if anyone wants to check it out. Looks like a nice family that owns a few homes for rent.

I'm so looking forward to a relaxing girls weekend :thumbsup2

That looks like a great deal - the whole house for $150.00. Be sure and let us know how you liked it - we love to visit that area.
