OT: Just found out our beloved dog has lymphoma!

I am so sorry!!! My dog had lymphoma as well. We decided to treat him with the chemo. It gave us another year and a half with him. Before he was diagnosed he has been acting very quiet when he was normally hyper. He was 7 so we thought he was just getting older. Once we started the treatment he started acting like a puppy again. He must have been sick for way longer then we realized. My dog loved getting attention so he loved going for his treatments. All of the vets loved him and let him out of the cage at the hospital while he was there. It was still hard to lose him but both his and our lives were better with the extra time. :grouphug:

I know exactly how you and your son feel, when my samoyed Tasia got sick I completly lost it when the vet(who was mean by the way) said he might not make it.
I just hope this isnt what they think it is,

I'm sorry your sweet Wallace is sick. I will keep him and your family in my thoughts.

:grouphug: My brother went through this with his dog last year. Swelling, not acting right - they got a diagnosis of Lymph Node Cancer. He took the dog to a Vetrinary(sp?) Oncologist to see about doing Chemo or something and the Oncologist said it wasn't worth it after reviewing the tests and scans and stated that Scout had 3-6 months at best to live. This was last July and the dog is still alive and well. :cool1:

All you can do it prepare yourselves for the worst but continue to hope and pray for the best. GOOD LUCK!

That made me cry!!

Poor wallace and your poor family. He sounds like such a sweet guy...and so young :guilty:

You're not alone! uhhh so sad. I've always had dogs... up until about a year ago... ds and dh have allergies so bad... but his brother's dog has lymphoma as well. they're putting him to sleep so he doesn't suffer anymore. I know it is so hard. My american eskimo got hit by a car and I about died. I was at work and my ds was only 3, he opened the screen door and she ran!

Here is a great big :grouphug: Sorry for the bad news!

I am so so sorry. I can tell you that my friend's Bulldog was diagnosed March 2005 and is still doing ok. He's on his 2nd round of chemo.

omg....i'm sitting here w/ tears in my eyes. i am so sorry you are going through this. we had to put our 14 yr old rottie to sleep in may and i still cry about it. i also had a female rottie that passed away from cancer almost 7 yrs ago....she went peacefully in her sleep, in her favorite spot. i still tear up about her too.
don't worry about being strong....you have every right to worry & cry!
you, your family & wallace are all in my prayers!!
