Well the lines were horrible! It was all sold out and we bought our tickets online. The theater was not my first choice. My first choice was all sold out. This theater is showing it's age and the seats were really tiny. And it was $7.00 for popcorn! We didn't have any popcorn:: Then the movie wouldn't work! It was supposed to start at 12 and started at 12;30am. I thought it was ok but like New Moon better. Thoughts?

I have tickets to go at 10:45 this morning because there was no way I was going to brave the midnight crowds. We had a few theaters showing it and the ones closest sold out a few days ago and the only one that had any left was in a bad neighborhood.

Eclipse is my favorite book in the series so I am hoping it that the movie is at least as half as good.

I refuse to go to midnight showings anymore. The stupid screaming teens drive me nuts. We missed half of New Moon because the girls would start screaming every time Jacob showed up. Yes, he's hot and looks great with his shirt off. But he can't hear you screaming. Stop it.**Rant over.

We're going in the morning :).

I am going on Friday night at Midnight (this is the first showing in England). I am so excited! :)

You all have my sympathy. I could not imagine going to a film where preteen girls sat screaming off and on through the whole thing. You PAID for this??

Going at 1:45 today as I can't deal screaming teens at midnight.

Ditto. I'm not a huge fan, though I did enjoy the books. But my best friend is obsessed, and draged me to New Moon on opening weekend. Same thing, screaming girls everytime Jacob appeared, and wispering about "this is the part in the book when" the rest of the time. My friend is now going tonight by herself because I told her I'm not paying $10 for a movie not to be able to enjoy it. She likes to go multiple times, so I told her I'd go with her once the crowds died down a little.

I went with my teenager, we also think the whole screaming teens thing is crazy.

However, I will say that they weren't quite as bad as they were in New Moon.

My daughter says this is the best of the three movies.

I think it was better than New Moon, but not as good as Twilight. There is a lot of humor in this one, so we laughed a lot. And to me, Rob looks...I dunno....softer...

I have a ticket for 7:20 tonight but my 9 year old son now has a baseball playoff game so I will be going to see him play instead. The things us moms do for our kids :)

Go Volcanoes :cheer2:

You thought Twilight was better than New Moon? I actually though Twilight was pretty crappy compared to New Moon. The filming was bad for one, and I think they cut way too much out of the story.
I think this one looks better than both, but I guess we'll see. I probably won't see it for a week or two yet.

Yeah, I liked Twilight better. My daughter thinks I'm crazy too....

Isn't it sad we used to be those screaming teens at movies?

I'm going tomorrow afternoon too because I can't take screaming teens either. I figure going on a Thursday afternoon that there won't be too many crowds in the theater.

I took 5 teenagers to the midnight showing and had a good time. The teens in our theater were very good. There was some comments but not like some of the movies I have gone to in the middle of an afternoon. I would do it again no problem. Now the lack of sleep..... that is another story:scared:
I did talk to the theatres employees when I went to get drinks and popcorn and they had a lot of problems in other rooms. They had to escort some people off the property. That is crazy to me.

taking DD on Saturday morning. She so wanted to go last night, but I have a standing Wednesday morning bright and early 8am meeting. Death & dismemberment are the only ways to avoid it. On vacation you even have to call in. Team Jacob (her) and Team Edward (me) is not worth getting called on in that meeting and not being able to answer a question. LOL

I enjoyed it. I liked it better than New Moon. Which I also saw again last night. We had an issue with the theater though. We got there early and found out we could see Twilight/New Moon for $10 and not have to wait in the crazy lines. So we did. Unfortunately we got there around 9 and the said it ended at 11:30 so we figured New Moon was just starting...we got in was saw that it was already at least 40 minutes into New Moon.. but no big deal because we didn't have to fight the huge crowd for seats, it was worth it...... or so we thought. After the movie got out, they told us that we had to go to the back of the line..apparently when the lady told us we wouldn't have to wait she meant we would have to wait as long.. and at the end of the 400+ crowd. needless to say we were upset.Another couple was very upset because they had been there since 6..and were told the same thing we were..we would be let in first... A staff person heard us complaining and got us the manager. She was very nice and did apologize but said there was nothing she could do because the theater where Eclipse was playing had another movie playing till 11:30 and if she brought us to the front of the line, the crowd would freak. She ended up letting the 4 of us into Grownups and let us watch the last hour of that and stay in the theatre at the end. We did find out later that she let the 6 people who bought tickets to Grownups and Eclipse stay in too and we wished we did that instead of paying to see 1/4 of 2 movies I already own!!!

Oh my! I think I wrote that! We had the same experience, but worse. We bought our tickets online and were told to get there 30 minutes early. Like you, this wasn't the theater of our choice, but the other one was sold out and this was the next closest theater. Anyway, we got there 45 minutes early, but the theater has started letting people in two hours early. Even though you bought tickets for a specific movie, they were allowing people to go in any theater they wanted. A friend and I took our 14 year old daughters and they movie theater expected us to all sit in different theaters because there was only single seating available. It was chaos! I had went to the second Twilight movie last year at a different theater and it was very organized. You were only allowed to go into the theater that you bought tickets for. They had areas roped off for each theater. Not this time! It was a free for all! We ended up talking to the manager and she said they decided to change the way they did it this year and let people in early. I told her that they might want to post that information on the website the next time. She did refund our money, but we didn't get the service fee back and we had to drive 30 miles there and back to the theater. I think what upset me the most was that our local theater was scheduled to get the midnight showing of Eclipse, but at the last minute, it was taken away and given to the theater we ended up going to. I sent a letter to AMC Entertainment complaining, but I don't know if I will hear anything or not. Our daughters were very upset, but we are going to take them this afternoon to our local theater. I hope other people had better experiences.

I have tickets for Thursday evening at 8pm. I can't wait. DH is even looking forward to it!

I think I am going to call the theater and complain this morning! Starting 30 minutes late really made me angry. There was no one around to complain to last night:) There was no air in the theater and I was sweating when we got out of there! We got there 45 minutes early and the line was wrapped around the building.
I don't know how any reader of the books could not be disappointed? There is so much detail in the books that doesn't translate to the screen. I thought for sure the battle scene would be longer. And the final showdown took a few minutes. I am not saying the movie sucked by any means but I was longing for more. I think the first movie was the worst in the series. I had seen it without reading the books. Then I read the books and realized how much was missed.
Our crowd was really well behaved. There were only a few outbursts. Mostly for Jake's body lol and the engagement scene. People were yelling about how "ugly" the ring was.
I will still be buying it on Blue-ray though!
