I would like to get an iPod shuffle to use when I am running. Are they compatable with my Dell computer? Do you have to use iTunes with them or will RealOne Player (which came with my Dell) work to download songs? Is it difficult to download songs?? :confused3

You have to use I tunes, using 3rd party software is VERY difficult with I pods, sometimes impossable. Downloading and using itunes is very easy, I`ve had a shuffle for over year and a half, it`s a good product, with a solid base. If you have problems PM me and we`ll figure it out!

Happy running

I have a Dell computer & have no problems downloading songs for my kids. DS has a mini & DD a shuffle. Very easy to use.

You have to use iTunes, but you can download free online or use the CD that comes with the player. It's incredibly easy to download songs - click on the music store in iTunes, browse to the find song or CD you want and click a little button to buy. Also, if you have any CDs, you can rip those right into iTunes rather than rebuy. I'm not too familiar with the Real products, is this the monthly membership one? If so, those won't work since you're essentially "renting" the song and once you cancel you no longer have access to the songs. If you actually download the files (paid for them individually) you can convert those for iTunes.

There is a way to get around the "rented" music, but it can get a little complicated. I use Roxio which has a sound editor feature. I have it set up so that anything that is playing on my computer, it's recording (I've bootlegged a few songs that were only available as streaming this way *shhh* LOL)

No - the RealOne player is a program that came with my Dell that burns CD and plays them on my computer...

jjohnson - Do you use iTunes too?

I have a Dell and I use iTunes to download CDs to load onto our iPods. It is extremely easy.

iTunes is a wonderful program to use. It is very user friendly and easy to use.

You can download Itunes without having an Ipod and try it before you buy the iPod. The software is free. I love mine!

OMG, how did you do this? I have Roxio on my computer and have never even used it, since I am not really computer savvy!!! I would LOVE to be able to do this! Do you have directions I can use??? THANKS IN ADVANCE!

I used iTunes for the first time today. While it is very easy to use, I noticed that it is very hard to get a song to a MP3 player other than iPod. My son has a iRiver. I ended up recording the song using iRiver. I always wanted an iPod. Now I am having second thought. I'd like to be able to play a song any where once I purchased it.

Please share your tip if I missed something obvious.
