Hi all , need some help.Dd4 was stung about 2 weeks ago under her left eye(the most senstive area) while outside at daycare.I got conflicting reports. Some said a bee others a wasp.the teacher did basic first aid and could not locate a visible stinger so she didn't poke around( good thing ).it has been 2 wks and during most of the week the area just looks slightly pink.On wed,th,fr when she goes to school she comes home and it is bright red.At first I thought an infection so I brought her to the dr.The Doc said she thought the stinger may still be in there and to keep it clean and apply bacitracin.if it got worse to come back. There have been no fevers, and the site is red but not warm.Any ideas? I am wondering maybe she has an allergy and something at school is making her rub her eye or something.

A localized infection is a concern and keeping her from rubbing it is hard. Did you take her to an eye doctor or a pediatrician. If it doesn't look better in a couple days, I would have an eye doctor look at it.

I took her to the pediatrician.it looks better today.but this is what happens.it looks fine all week then she goes to daycare wed,th,fri and it looks awful again.it did not look bad today when I picked her up and I am wondering if it is because it is raining and they were not outside.maybe an allergy?I called my doc again, she feels that there is still a bit of stinger in there.:confused3
