OT: Info/advice needed for Adoption....please read.

First of all, let me say it's not for me... My good friend asked me to help get some info off the internet for her. Her and her husband want to adopt from an agency called Christian World Adoption where they plan to adopt a girl from Guatemala, but she wants to find a discussion group or a website where she can talk with others who have used this agency and have experiences to share etc.

Does anyone know of a discussion forum out there? Anyone ever heard of this agency? Any info would be greatly appreciated... THANKS!!!

Hi there,

we are currently adopting a baby from China. We are members of several Yahoo groups regarding international adoption. There is a wealth of info on these yahoo sites. Have your friend go to Yahoo, then hit the link for groups. Type in words like "Guatemala adoption", etc. and you should find some groups.

Congratulations on adopting a from China and for Guatemala! We were in China 3 years ago today getting our precious little girl! Yahoo groups are the best source of information. For China, you can get on a support group for your Child's orphanage when you know which one it is! Sorry, I don't know much about the agency Christian World Adoption.

Being the Mom of China and Korean dolls, I have found a site www.fertilethoughts.com tell her to go to the adoption category then International Adoption. That board has many Guat Mom's ready to answer any questions!!!!

I'm half-adopted myself, and think it's wonderful when people look into adopting children. There are so many children out there that need parents that it's great to see people who want to give them a home and make them a part of their family.

I'm an adoptive mom and I know of an excellent forum out there for all memebers of the adoption triad. There are great sections for international adoption, waiting to adopt, financing adoption and a many more. I found the site 3 years ago when I began researching adoption and it's been a great resource. I'll pm you the url since apparently I'm not allowed to post URLs yet. Also, the forums run on vBulletin just like the DIS and are moderated.

I have two children that we adopted from Guate. However, I am not familiar with the agency you mentioned. I would second Fertile thoughts. It's a great place for info, as well as forums.adoption.com. Also, she may want to join the "big list". It is a list serve out of St John's and is huge. If she posts on either of the above forums, the members there will be able to tell her how to join the big list.
