Hey there looking for some feedback.

I am considering using either Math U See or Moving with Math for this next year. I will most probably be purchasing in April at the conference I will be attending. Looking for been there done that experience. Have you used either one, what made you choose it, do you like it, what would you change?

We are currently using Singapore, but are pretty dang bored with it and looking for something a little more intriguing and fun instead of just basics basics basics. Don't want math to be boring, get it done kind of work.

Oh, I have a kindergartener, preschooler-kind of kindergarten in the fall, and a 4th soon to be 5th grader who is maybe a grade behind in math due to math anxiety.

Hi Disneymom, I too have a "math anxious" kid...but from trying to get through saxon books...sigh :confused3 Anyway, I looked into mathusee and Singapore last year- we chose Singapore for my older,b/c it had similiarities to the Miquon math workbooks that he enjoyed when he was younger. The reason i didn't go with mathusee was it seemed, according to all my research, that it concentrates on only one topic at a time, for a long time. So in order to get the full "math" knowledge, we'd have to use it and stick with it for years. Since we are pretty relaxed, and pick and choose what we use from our books, I knew it wouldn't work for us. That said, it looks very interesting! So if you plan on using one curriculum fully for a few years, it sounds cool.
I can't say enough about Miquon math workbooks and cuisinare rods for grades k-3- my kids just learned so much from these, my younger is currently loving his Miquon math.
BTW, when we do math work, older ds works better with Singapore than any other I've tried since Miquon,he's almost 13, I think the way it's presented just "speaks" to him,and he understands it.
