Surgery went find. Thanks for so much advise and well wishes. My surgery, hysterectomy, was yesterday in the hospital under 24 hours. The kids did not come up to see me. By the time I was in a room it was too close to their dinner & bed time. I went to see them today, best medicine I have had. :lovestruc

That is great news Steph. It appears you may have ended up with the lap surgery and I hear that recovery is much quicker. Get some rest and hope you are back to feeling 100% very soon.

Im so happy that you only had to stay for 1 night. I ended up 4 days in. I had abdominal though. Im so glad you are home and happy. Now make sure you take it easy for the next 6 weeks. even if you feel like you could move mountains, DONT!!! it makes recovery much worse. Im on week 3 now. I still have some icky's, but I tend to over do it!!!!! Sending you some hugs!!!!

I'm having mine done on the 29th. Any suggestions for pre-op preperations to make post-op better?

Mine would be to do all the house work you will want done in the first two weeks. I froze away a few dinners. Then brought in easy to fix things for dh. Then spend the last week doing fun stuff with your family. The day before the prep viisit a book store or library. The day of the prep lock yourself away by yourself. I was grumpy and wanted to be alone.

Glad it went well, I was just going to check and see if you posted. I think I am ready for mine next month but every once and awhile I start to get nervous. I know it is the right choice.

Sign up for Netflix. You might not feel comfortable sitting up to read a book or magazine.

If you have a cat - arrange to have someone deal with the kitty litter for awhile after the surgery. Bending down that far may be difficult.

Shop in advance for anything your normally buy which is heavy (kitty litter, dog food, gallons of bottled water).

Remember that even though it will be difficult for awhile, when you've recovered you will be so happy that you did it.
