I'm at a loss for how to phrase an invitation to an open house I'm hosting for all the folks DH and I work with. Everything seems awkward! We work with married folks with and without kids, singles who aren't dating, singles who have boyfriends/girlfriends, couples who are committed but not married, gay couples...well, y'all get the idea. I need to phrase my invitation to make it clear that all are welcome -- not just the coworkers, but their entire...households? I don't want to have to write out the list I just wrote above! This is a "the more the merrier" kind of gathering.
If I say "spouses/partners/children welcome", that seems to imply that the single folks can't bring an invited guest. If I say "spouses/partners/boyfriends/girlfriends/children", well, that just seems awkward.
Help!!!
Thanks.
