I just did a huge laundry with all of my DD3's winter clothes. Almost all of her "good" clothes have ink all over them....I found an ink pen in the dryer! Not sure how the pen got there, but I am so upset!! Anyone have any miracle remedies for ink stains????

There's a product called Carbona stain removers and there's one for ink. I have also been told hairspray works. I haven't tried it though. Have you tried googling ink stain removal?

I found my carbona stain remover for ink, but I still cannot get many of the stains out. I am googling right now to see if I can find anything else. Thanks!

:sad1: I feel for you....my DH left a pen in his pants pocket and the same thing happened to me....I tried a few different stain removers and nothing worked...I'm not sure if the heat from the dryer had anything to do with it? :confused3 I ended up with quite a few of DD's nice outfits ruined!

Good luck...please let us know if you find something that works...I try to remember to check DH pockets every time I wash the clothes, but I just know the one time I forget.... :(

I posted here in the fall after my DD5 got ink all over the front of her brand new pocohontas costume I had just purchased for her for Halloween.! Someone suggested Oxyclean. It worked! I used the liquid concentrated form. Good luck.

Hairspray has worked very well for me in the past, although I used it prior to washing. I saturate the ink with hairspray and than rinse and repeat until it is gone. Good luck!

I also soak clothes is Biz color safe bleach and have had great luck with it.

You could also try one of those Dryel Drycleanign kits. There is a stain remover in there that I have used to get ink out of a dry clean jacket. I know you clothes aren't dry clean, but I it wouldn't do any harm to use the stain remover and run them thru the dryer.

If you had caught it after the wash but before the dryer, most of the suggestions already given would probably have worked. However, once the stains have been subjected to the heat of the dryer, they are going to be pretty well set. You can keep trying, but I wouldn't hold out too much hope at this point.

I make it a religious practice to check every pocket in every garment that goes into the laundry as I'm putting it into the machine, and also to check each machine before I put any garments into it. With kids in the house, you never know what someone will decide to "hide" in the dryer or washing machine (or the oven, for that matter; I don't turn that on without looking, either.)

Thank everyone for your suggestions! I don't think the pen was in the washing machine....it somehow made it's way into the dryer only. Kinda strange.

I was able to get almost all of the pen out!! I bought some BIZ laundry treatment (powder) and put 3/4 cup into a large pot of boiling water....then I put the clothes into the pot....let simmer for 45 minutes and poof.....only one little dot of ink left!
