OT--Gatlinburg for 20 people

I need help in finding a good place to rent a huge cabin from--we need at least 5 bedrooms. Has anyone gone through alpinechalets--we were looking at sugarmaple but my DSIS went and looked at another site for feedback and saw that recently people have not been happy with them on their customer service or service in general. Thanks

Go to www.deeridge.com. It is a fantastic place to stay! They do have a large cabin, "The Lodge". We have only stayed in the condos, but other friends have stayed in two of the smaller cabins and loved them. You do have access to and indoor swimming pool, but you would need to drive to it.

The resort is about 8-10 miles outside of Gatlinburg, and the first trip up the mountain takes a bit to get used to, but the view is well worth it! We went once and now are hooked. We won't be staying anyplace else!

I've done the blackbear one too and it was fine. I usually use vrbo.com (vacation rentals by owner) to book though. You can chose whatever you want. I've never had any problems and booked at least 4 vacations through this site.

We had 50 people for a family reunion at the Best Suites/AmeriSuites..err...something-suites, just off the main drag in Pidgeon Forge...very nice...and they even assigned our group a hospitality host/concierge.

I am only 30 minutes from the Smokeys so if we want to go we just take a drive and hike picnic. Have you checked out Townsend it is a small town directly outside of the National Park, but very close to airport, other small towns and very close to Pigeon Forge, Cades Cove and Knoxville. They also have cabins it might be worth checking out.

Our family does a family reunion in that area every year, and we typically need at least a 5 bedroom house. Sevierville is a little farther from Gatlinburg, but it hasn't been inconvenient for us. We stay at Oak Haven Resorts -- www.oakhavenresort.com. The cabins really are just like in the pictures.

There was an article in Southern Living magazine last year that discussed Smokey Mountain cabin rental. You might try looking that up to see their other suggestions.

I can second that Gatlinburg Falls Resort. We went last year and loved it. The cabins are wonderful, new and very equipped. Good luck with your choice.
