What would you recommend for a 1yr old’s birthday party entertainment…a face painter or someone who makes balloon animals? There will be around 22-24 kids attending the party in total (ranging from ages 1-10, pretty much an even split between boys & girls).

THANKS!:hippie:

Balloons around toddlers scare me. They break so easy and with that many kids there are bound to be some pieces lying around. They are a major choking hazard.

Doubt your one year old will care for face painting but the older kids will enjoy it.

If it is in your budget, a bounch house is GREAT with a big age span of kids. Just group by size as they take turns.

If the majority of the kids are under 3, I would say neither. Most of the young ones won't have their faces painted and balloons are too dangerous. If the kids are older I would go with balloon animals but the bouncy castle is a great idea!

I would go with hand painting. So instead of the face the picture goes on their hand.

That has worked much better for us. Because then the kids can see it and they won't usually touch it.

I have to agree...I do not know if I could do balloon animals due to the choking hazard if they "pop".

I 2nd the idea of a bounce house if it fits it your budget. I know you can buy them at ToyrsRUs or rent them for usually under $200.

If I had to pick between face painting and balloon animals - I would say that you might want to consider face painting. Another easy (and inexpensive) idea is tattoos.

Good luck with your decision.

I don't think balloons with children under 3 is a good idea. You might find a few children under 3 that don't mind having their face painted (my niece wouldn't be one of them-she is 5 now and still won't).

For my niece's 2nd Birthday we played games. My sister hid some applesauce cups (Winnie the Pooh's honey pots). Pin the tail on Eeyore.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. You made some good points I did not think about beforehand (it's my first child so forgive me :)).
I decided to reserve a bounce & slide combo moonwalk for the outside and also get an small inflatable ball pit for the little ones (1-3) to play inside if the parents prefer since the party will be in August.
