OT- DS ready for Christmas parade with his new bike.

Stone's Cub Scout pack is in a Christmas parade this AM so I took a pic to share. He wanted to be in front of his new bike he was surprised with yesterday. He has a Batman bike i gave him when he was 5 and he got on it maybe three times since. He has never asked for a bike and doesn't try to ride. He likes his giant Yerf Dawg trike and only got into that in the past 1 - 2 years.. Anyway, we had to get new Cub Scout numbers for his uniform which happens to be sold at the Bicyle Posat (store) he was looking at trick bikes by Allen Cooke and Dave Mirra that were signed (local residents at one time or now) He started looking at bike's, sales guy helped Stone on one and talked about how great his balance is and how much he rides?, etc...I explained auatism/developmental stuff and he said in his opinion, the kid was ready....I was so excited , I maxed out a bike for him.....He came home and rode it and has rode it this AM. Training wheels will be coming off this week. This bike to him is the best gift I haven gotten this year. I am so excited for my baby to ride a bike.

What a milestone to reach huh? I know just how proud you must feel. Riding a bike is such an accomplishment for our kids (I know ). With the challenges they have with bilateral coordination, core strength, visual and audotory over stimulation, it's such a great childhood acheivement.
