OT: ?drive from DC to Naples, FL

Sorry about this OT topic but really could use some advice. My husband unexpectedly has Christmas week off and we are seriously considering the drive from Wash DC to Naples where we can use our Starwood Points. Airfares are exhorbitant so we'd have to drive with our 2 school aged children(who have lots of entertaining toys). Two questions- The school break only goes until Jan. 2 and we would leave at noon on the 26th after my parents return home. Do you think that it would be worth it to go from Dec. 26 and return on the pm of Jan. 2nd? Secondly- where would we stop for the night on the way down. Thanks very much for any advice. Susan
