I am off to work the election today!

Everyone Vote!! :thumbsup2

I think it's interesting that the first post about the election is on the last day of the campaign.

I would never miss an opportunity to vote.

I'm going to walk over there later with my 'borrowed' munchkins.... I was thinking I should let the 3 - 3yo's play enie meenie miny mo!!

I'm going too, but I'm going to wait until the kids come home and take them.

It might get them to think about how important it is to vote if they get to see the process.

I completely agree with you. It is important for our children to see us voting in order to encourage voting later on. I can remember going with my parents as a child and they would stress the importance of your vote. "It's our responsibility as a Canadian citizen!" :wave2: I am just hoping the vote doesn't impact the value of our dollar too much. The current exhange rate is so good.

Happy Voting!! :)

I voted, thought for a minute I would just close my eyes and pick, but I missed the paper all together. :confused3 Is thier a lesser of the three evils?

HAHAHAHAHA probably better that way so that we don't have any un-friendly debates!

I voted at the advance polls! Instead of anything strategic, I voted for the best candidate for my riding, not for the leader.

Do spoiled ballots count because I honestly don't like the direction any of the parties want to take us according to the minute details we have actually gotten from the leaders between the smear campaign ALA the US campaigns. I miss the days when the ads used to actually state teh platform a party was running on and had some deatilas about the platform and how it will benefit CANADA now it is just drag your opponent through the mud and it sucks.

Will vote after work as the polls weren't open when I left for work.

First time my DS is able to vote and according to him he is going to vote. I took him every time I voted (which was every election) as he was growing up so am quite pleased that he didn't hesitate when I asked if he was voting.

CharlesTD, yes spoiled ballots do count. It shows that people have turned out but are not happy.

I voted this morning and have in every election since I turned 18. Call me me crazy but I remember in elementary school seeing the adults come in to vote and thinking, "Wow I can't wait to be able to do that!"

On another tangent. I was in Tim Hortons earlier and one of the employees was saying to another that she wasn't going to vote because she had to wash her car. Direct Quote, "Washing my car is more important than voting!"

I couldn't believe it. I was stunned. People FOUGHT for our right to democracy!

That is so Sad!

:confused3 :confused3

How can washing your car be more important?

A spoiled ballot cannot automatically be interpreted as an indication of voter dissatisfaction.

I agree. It just gets destroyed, nobody 'reads' into it.

(because it could be spoiled for many reasons-poor eyesight, confusion, etc..)
