I do. My Oldest DS. Earlier today he won 2 tix to tonight's Red Sox game. (He's there now with DH). He's won a TV, radio controlled airplane, a basketball and on and on. He enters 4 or 5 raffles a year, if that usually only buying a normal number of tickets ($5 worth) and has won over 50 things. One time we went to a chinese auction type raffle and it was actually embarrassing because he literally won 75% of the prizes. I was having him give things to other kids around us. I swear if it's a raffle and he enters and he really wants to win something he does. I'm going to have to take him to the penny sale this year to see what he can win there. I on the other hand usually win something from about 1 contest in 1,000.

I love that he's so lucky and that he gets these great things. But conversely, I'm also worried. Could this turn him into a gambling addict? :confused3

We have won 3 weeklong trips in the last 5 years...2 cruises and the "US Cellular challenge" which had us fly to 6 different destinations in a week by private jet!:cool1:

My mom is super lucky! When we went to Vegas, she hit so many good wins on slot machines ($20 or $30, not like thousands... but still!) that we just started giving her money and asking her to play for us. :lmao:

Oh, wow! That sounds awesome.

I won a 1 carat diamond solitaire ring about 20 years ago in a jewelry store raffle. I joked at the time that I'd never win the lottery after that since I'd won my one big item. There are people who regularly win stuff but that's because they enter every contest they can find. With them, it's just about odds.

My sister. You know how radio stations used to have the you-can-only-win-once-in-a-30-day-period rule? That's because of people like her. Seriously, the local dj's all knew her voice; she wins all the time. House parties, contests through Facebook, online sweepstakes etc... Nothing huge, but I'd say at least once or twice a month at least she wins something. My mom and I are kinda lucky, once or twice a year maybe, but nothing like her.

One time she was with my dad at a department store and entered her name to win a bike something like 100 times. Dad said she had to enter my brother and me too, so she did, each of us once. I won, much to her dismay. The funny thing was it was for a brand new bike and I got a new bike that year for my birthday so I had two! I got to keep them both (although I did share with my friend who didn't have a bike at all).

My ds13 is also very lucky!! He has won many things over the past few months. Most of them have been inexpensive wins (t-shirt, free Redbox rentals, scarf). My family loves popcorn and we've been buying that Orville microwave popcorn with the "pop and win" codes. I swear, every time that child chooses the bag and pops it, he wins something. His new blu ray player arrived on Monday!!! The rest of us have yet to win a thing LOL.

I have several relatives who have been very lucky. My Uncle won the lottery!!! That's the only big thing I remember him winning, but he is sitting pretty right now.

My mil plays her "numbers" every week, and she wins hundreds, on a regular basis.

My brother is very lucky. When he goes to the casino boat he puts $50 in a wheel of fortune machine and wins $1000 on a regular basis. New Years Eve he won $10,000 on a scratch off lotto ticket. Since November he has won about $4000 on scratch offs not including the $10k ticket that he has in a safe deposit box because he doesn't need the money yet so he won't cash it in until he his time is close to running out.

Yep. I have a friend that is insanely lucky and her mom is too. They win stuff off the radio ALL THE TIME! They find the craziest deals in stores, always get the best seats for shows (just buying when they go on sale, not through a broker or anything). She always has the best stories. I once heard her mom's name called on the radio for a contest to pay off your credit card. They've won trips, backstage passes, tons of just stuff. they definitely have a lucky gene!

I have a friend that constantly wins door prizes, drawings, etc. She won a trip to Hawaii!

However, even though I don't win prizes (my grand totaly was a $25 gift card from Cheesecake Factory), I'll take my kind of luck any day. I've had some seriously wonderful things happen at times when I needed them. Jobs, people like sitters, neighbors. This past winter, when we were stranded in a snow storm, I got out of the car to talk with a policeman I could see behind me. I happened upon an old neighbor, in a Jeep, who was able to get me and dd close enough to home to walk! That's luck.

When it comes to winning bikes, my 11 yr old DD has been very lucky since she was a toddler. She has won 4 different bikes from the age of 3 until now at Easter egg hunts, bike rodeo's, and Christmas time raffles. Luckily, each was a different style/size. With the more recent one that she won, we decided to give it away to another child instead.

Her little sister is also hard at work at winning her own bikes! At the age of 4, she has already won 2 of her own. One was for being the youngest bike rodeo participant (she was 2 then) and then won a second one last Christmas in a raffle. She actually is just getting big enough and learning how to ride the bike she first won and because the second one is the same size, she needs to decide which she will keep and then I hope to find another little girl to give the second bike to.

This has all worked out quite nice for us since so far we haven't had to buy either girl a bike. LOL Of course, the 4 yr old is really wanting a scooter so maybe she will luck out by winning one of those too. :wizard:

I wouldn't call that luck. That's God at work. ;-)

When I was working, I would listen to the local radio stations in my office and I got lucky a few times with some contests. I have won some expensive walkie talkies, various concert tickets (including getting to go on stage with Bon Jovi!), gift certificates, and 2nd row seats to see Jerry Seinfeld do his stand up act. I didn't win something every month. I think I probably won about 9-12 prizes over about 3 years. I guess the office just had some really fast phones!

But I'm a full time student now and I have satellite radio in my car, so no more local contests for me. :sad1: I don't think I have won anything for a couple of years now.

My sister. At a recent major fundraiser she won the grand prize. (Trip to Italy). People who know her groaned because she'd won the grand prize last year. She was called to the podium, reached into a drum with thousands of cards to pick the first prize winner-- and pulled her husband's name.

These are such nice stories about people being truly lucky.

I have a friend who has a major gambling addition. Of course everyone hears about when she wins pretty signficant money on scratch tickets. I can remember people always saying how lucky she was. These were co-workers where she no longer works. She lost her job for stealing to pay for her gambling addiction. :sad1:

My brother is the luckiest person I know. The first time he ever went to a casino he won $2000. Every single year at the employee Christmas party where he works, he has won something. Two years in a row he won a TV. Seriously, I don't know why God has blessed him with all this luck, but I wish some of it would rub off on me! LOL

One of my best friends constantly reminds me of how "lucky" I am and how horrible her life is.

Honestly, I've worked very hard for what I have, yet in the last year I've found myself in thousands of dollars of college debt, jobless due to budget cuts, and single after dating a boyfriend for nearly a decade. Me, lucky? :confused3

I went to a great college- on my dime. I had the chance to work for Disney- but got paid next to nothing. I was elected to several leadership positions in college- because I networked like crazy and proved my maturity.

Her parents paid 100% of her schooling, she spent her summers bumming around at home rather than pursuing internships, and she created a bad reputation for herself around campus by sleeping around :sad2:

I think it's all in perspective. I'm a happy person and I emphasize blessings over misfortune, but that doesn't mean the bad isn't there!!

My dad. He won a cruise in 1997 in a draw, and won again, in the SAME draw, in 1999! Granted, the tickets cost $100 each, so the likelihood of winning was a bit higher, but still; I didn't believe him when he came home the second time and said "Guess what I won..." :rotfl:

Oh, and then about a year later, he won $10,000 (again, in a draw where tickets cost $100!!). The man is just lucky...

My husband..he wins quite a few things. We started a list once and it is long. Lots and lots of concert tickets, a new Webber grill, $500 in GC to the local grocery store, money etc.. We went to concerts all summer last summer and didn't have to pay for any of them. And yes, the radio stations make those rules for people like him. Funny is that one time he couldn't win again so he called for a guy at work and he won him a trip to Cabo. Sweet!
