OT: Did you cry at Toy Story 3?

I have to admit that I got a little teary a couple of times during the movie. We saw it on fathers day but, DD13 didn't come with us because she is too cool to see a "little kids" movie with her parents. Lol

GREAT movie! I couldn't stop the tears at the end, just a very emotional movie. Every time Andy's mom would say he was 17 and going to college, I would look at my DS 17 and think about the little 2 year old he used to be and how much he loved his Buzz and Woody dolls. They were from Burger King, not the real little ones that came in the kids meals, but bigger and they talked, you had to buy them. Anybody else have them???? My DS loved them, carried them everywhere!

SOBBED..wish I was joking..idk what it was, but it hit home I guess :/

Me too!!!! I just couldn't stop! It reminded me of my "babies" who aren't babies anymore. :sad2: I even got teary-eyed when Andy was choosing which toys to take/store/throw out, then paused w/ Buzz & Woody. That was at the VERY beginning!

And, silly to say, but part of what made me cry at the end was when I thought, "This has to be the very last Toy Story. They won't make a movie with Bonnie & NO Andy." That's just sad to me. :sad1: Maybe Bonnie will pass her toys down to Andy's kids?!?!? :upsidedow

A major cry!! DS was three or four when the first one came out and really thought he was woody!!! He carried his around for years!!! I still have all his toy story toys in our atic!! He turned 18 last week and I thought I was doing pretty well with it till yesterday!!!!
DS went with me to take DGS (3) to his 1st toy story movie so that made it worse.
Of course DGS is the ONE kid in the world that does not want to be Buzz or Woody but SID:eek:. He wanted to know first thing after we left the movie why Sid was not in it. I can see years of therapy comming!!!!

I cried. I looked around the theater and saw lots of others folks wiping their eyes, too! I thought the movie was great! We all loved it!

I cried at the end when Andy was playing with the toys with Bonnie, I bawled and so did my mom. My DH even got choked up and maybe my dad. My DDs(13) were trying not to cry until they asked me if I was crying and I admitted to it. They said they didn't want to be the only ones crying. I loved that movie.

Went with my DD3 and DH...had tears streaming down my face. Even DH said that if he was at home he would have let a tear or two fall. Loved the movie!!! :cool1:

Ah, but Sid was in it! He was the garbage man who was drumming on the garbage cans and almost threw them all out!

Man.. now I don't even want to take DD to see the dang movie. I am such a sap.. and DD (6) was just crying the other night that she doesnt' want to grow up and is happy at the age she is in, etc. etc.. and she is getting so grown up..I could just cry thinking about it.. and I am a single Mom.. OMG.. she wants to see this movie..what to do?? what to do???

Oh.. maybe I'll send her with her GrandParents!! Brilliant Idea if I do say so myself!:thumbsup2

LOL, but you should really see it anyway, just take your kleenex! It was such a wonderful movie!! Ken is hilarious, so he is a good tradeoff for the tears.

Oh No.. I will not go to a movie that I know will make me cry.. even if it is a happy cry. Life is too short and has too many sad things in it to make my cry (like what is going on in the Gulf). I refuse to ever see even a great movie if I know it will make me sad in any way. Kinda nuts, I know..just a rule I have. It is bad enough when I end up crying at movies and don't expect it (i.e. UP!)

I was close, then remembered being a man I'm not allowed to cry.

:rotfl:

DW was a bit, and I know the lady behind us was as well. We were talking about it afterwards and DS6 (who used to love Buzz and call him Buzz Biteyear) couldn't figure out why we thought it was sad. He was focused on the toys going to the little girl and getting played with. I didn't really even focus on that until he mentioned it, and I'm guessing that's how most kids are going to look at it, while parents/adults are going to be looking at it from the "child leaving for college/moving away from home" viewpoint.

I have to admit that I did shed a tear or two at the end when Andy was giving up his toys to Bonnie. I went to see the movie with my DD 13 and my DS 19, who is going away to school in the fall. We gave away his Buzz stuff years ago but I wish I had kept one. The movie was really well done.:)

Oh how I cried! Just thinking about it makes me tear up 5 days later!
Now my son wants to throw his Lotso plushie away- I bought it before we saw the movie and had no idea what a bad guy he is.
Since Lotso is at DHS for pictures, my DS says he is going to yell at him.
(He originally said he wants to kick him, but he knows he can't do that!)
I can't imagine many kids smiling while they're taking pictures with Lotso!

My youngest 2 (twin DD's) will be entering college in the Fall. One of them will be dorming. I'm not sure I should see this movie! :)

OH As I was watching TS3 (yesterday), I began to realize how fast the last 14 years (DD's current age) have flown by, which means the next 4......well......let's just say I better not blink. An empty nest is right around the corner for me. :(

Oh yeah..... it killed me to see Andy in the video at the beginning and then leaving his Mom at the end.....:sad1: Made me think of all the photos and videos I have obsessively shot over the years, for just this reason! it flies by so fast- my joy in the theater came from the fact that my teen would still sit and enjoy that movie with us,and he still liked it!

Yes, I certainly did cry when Andy's mom was telling him goodbye and then Andy was giving the toys away. My DD17 called me a 'sap' - but I think that just comes with being a parent. :)

I cried my eyes out! My oldest grew up with Toy Story and is now the same age as Andy in the last one. It hit waaay too close to home! Fabulous movie, though! I think it's my favorite!
