Every hospital is different and so whether you use dermabond or do not use it... one MUST ensure that the wound is cleaned prior to ANY repair.
Our facility uses it... have not seen any issues related to infection yet, but have seen some cuts that dermabond just didn't do the trick and sutures ended up being placed. As for scarring, some folks are more prone to scarring, but we love our kids scars and all.
I am like the pp who shared that her son was missing some of his eyebrow... DD9 is the same way... (not very noticable but to us). I just steri stripped it after approximating the edges and cleaning. We joke that we LOVE every bit of her and and even that little bit of eyebrow that isn't there. She hardly notices it and doesn't seem to be self conscious of it.
I am sure that your little one will do fine. GOod Luck!
