OT - DD not sleeping through the night anymore! **UPDATE PAGE 6**

my son hasnt slept through the night in a very long time!!! Hes 20 months old and wants me with him. any advice on how to break him from wanting me all night long???

Yea for the tooth! Your sleeping issue popped right through! And mine has been a cold that settles in her throat about 4 each morning causing coughing and weezing. But we wouldn't love them any other way!

Daleswife- you just opened a HUGE can of worms....be prepared.

Well, guess what??

We have a tooth!!! :rotfl: Last night we went to go see a friend and her baby and I was telling her I thought she was teething, but hadnt seen anything yet, and she said she wanted to look and see. So, she did and what did she see??? One bottom tooth poking through!! I cannot believe she has finally gotten a tooth! And 3 weeks before her 1st birthday! My big girl!

WooHoo! :cool1:

Be prepared! Once the first one comes in, you could get three more pretty quickly. Or not! You never know with kids. :rotfl:

Congrats on the tooth! Every time we got one tooth, there was another no more than two weeks behind. And we popped 4 molars in two months time this past spring. But I think DD realizes how much easier eating is.

Be prepared to take pictures. That toothless smile is gone forever. But the two-tooth smile is cute too....and the 4 tooth....and....

You may want to start a new thread for this. But as PP mentioned, be prepared for all kinds of opinions and advice. Some you may like, and some you may not.

My short answer to your question is that you need to teach your child to self-sooth himself to sleep. Make sure he has a lovey that will comfort him. Then it's a process of slowly getting him out of the habit of having you with him at night.

I feel a bump right next to the one that is coming through, so I bet by her birthday she will have another one! I just was happy to know there was a reason behind these restless nights! Yea for teeth!

Okay - your post made me start crying! No more toothless grins. I have loved them for so long. And now they are no more! :sad1:
I love these smiles!

Don't cry. We had 7 months with only 2 bottom teeth. Those pics are cute too. (And I was afraid I was going to chopping food forever! Now, I'm less worried.) As are the ones with the two top teeth and the two bottom teeth. She was a couple months with the 4 teeth. They were perfect.

She has kind of a snaggletooth on the bottom, now that she has 4. We're hoping when the "eye" teeth (there's an official name, but can't think of it) come in, it will line up a little better.

But I'm afraid my DD is destined for orthodontia as a tween/teen. But that's a rite of passage, no?

I am sure I will love any smile she has to give, but the toothless ones are so cute! It will make things better for the food though. I get so nervous giving her things since she has no teeth! But those gums are pretty hard, so she is able to mash things up pretty easily.

I think a lot of babies have a snaggletooth, and since those teeth will fall out, I wouldnt worry about it yet!

I thought i had some time to save money for braces. Believe it or not, our dentist said "its time" for my DS8 to see orthodontist for evaluation!! That was 6 months ago. I'm not ready yet. Friends' 10 & 8 yr olds have already had "spacers" and now have those clear/retainer-like removable braces. Theory is their teeth move faster and braces are done quicker when they're young and growing quick. I'm afraid to start early and just have to get them again as a teen...
