OT-DC office buildings evacuated-09/12/01 5:10...6:25 Update

DC office buildings are being evacuated right now, as of 5:10 pm/Eastern time, a large area between New York & H streets, I think. No-one seems to know exactly why.

UPDATE: The US Capitol was evacuated because of a suspicious package, but that was just rescinded. No word yet on the security perimeter/office building evacuation around the White House.

The time right now is right before 6pm/Eastern. I live in the DC area, this is being reported as it actually happens by the local ABC Radio affiliate, WMAL/AM630.
There is a security perimeter being established around the White House, no word as to exactly why. Downtown traffic is a mess, since folks have left their office buildings & so many streets are shut down. The President is still here in DC, the Vice President is in Camp David.
