OT Couple only vacation ideas East Coast

I would like to plan a vacation for me and DH, no kids this summer. I say East coast because I do not fly. I am tempted to do a trip to WDW with him but feel guilty even thinking about it. So any ideas for a nice getaway?

We love the Outer Banks, NC. It is out 'quiet' family vacation. SO's father passed away on 12/31 and dd and I are taking him there for a getaway over spring break in March. Just a time for us all to celebrate life as a family.

Not sure when you are thinking of traveling, but Cape Cod is beautiful in the summer. You could rent a little cottage. Martha's Vineyard is nice too--just make sure you stay someplace with beach rights.

Where are you from and how far do you want to travel? And what do you like to do? New England is full of real nice places to go. Cape Cod or one of the islands, Maine has lots of great seafood, RI has wonderful beaches, etc. We need more to go on!

We're from NYC and are willing to travel by car. I was thinking a nice resort somewhere near the water. That narrows it down right!

How about upstate new york? New Palz for hiking and stuff (there is an awesome bed and breakfast there) and antiquing (if you are into that) or there are other towns that have mansions to visit... i can get you more information from my mom if you want it

I don't know where you are from but here are a few suggestions.

We love Ocean City, MD but we haven't been in 2 years. Cape May, NJ is also a nice town. Williamsburg/ Virginia Beach area is great. Depending on how far you want to travel and where you live makes a difference.
