OT: clone wars legos

I know this is the best place to come to get info on just about everything...so, I was wondering if anybody has heard anything about more clone wars lego sets coming out (probably for the holidays)?
DS is almost 6, and these $80+ sets that are very complicated to put together don't quite work for him yet. He loves the ships, but they would not stay together w/ his playing. He really wants some of the new characters but they only come with the big sets. It seems like Legos.com is the last place to get info on new products, the new Indy lego sets were in the toy store for at least 2 weeks before they were even mentioned on the website...

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. The Lego store at DTD had about 6 sets already for sale, although you are right, many of them were in the $80+ range. From past years experience, usually numerous Star Wars sets are released for the holiday season. The Lego store tends to get them before most of the major chain stores, too -as early as October/November for January releases. I go there a lot, so I can try to keep my eyes open for any sets.

If your son just wants the little "guys", I know lots of people sell them on Ebay. They buy the sets, open them, then sell the guys. Some of them go for just a couple of bucks, other more popular ones can go for $20 or higher!
Try doing an Ebay search for "Lego clone wars".
