We are having a classic pooh baby shower for a friend and I am looking for some creative ideas on things to do. I found an idea of using terra cotta pots to make hunny pots. Anyone else have any ideas? I would like to create a pooh themed menu, but have no idea on what to serve. Chicken stips with "hunny dipping sauce"...anyother ideas? My friend loves classic pooh, but I am not as familiar with it so any help would be greatly appreciated!

I held a baby shower about six months ago and classic pooh was available on lots of things. Look in the baby shower section of the bigger craft stores (michael's, etc) there were invitations, decorations all sorts of things.

"Hunny" is the only food I associate with the hundred acre wood gang. Pooh and friends was originally a British tale, wasn't it? Maybe English trifle? instead of cake? Some English chocolates. Make it a tea party - finger sandwiches, scones, etc?

If you have a local 'paint your own ceramics' place (they were popular here for a while, we only have one left now) they might have a mold that looks like a hunnypot that you could paint/personalize. Depending on how many you want the money and effort might be too much, though.

I just googled - classic winnie pooh baby shower - and found tons of stuff. If you start there and dig around you might get some more ideas.
Good luck! I had a ball planning the one I did but it's a lot of work.

We had a Pooh party years ago for my then 3-year old--not a shower, and not "classic" Pooh, but here are a couple of ideas from ours: I had a classic styled cookie jar and just wrapped a HUNNY label on it (to cover the word cookie), and stuck a stuffed Pooh into it upside down. We attached helium balloons to either the pot or his leg, and this was our centerpiece.

By chance, I found a large roll of wrapping paper with a cloud/sky design and I used it as a paper tablecloth covering for some long tables we used. you could do something with the "little black rain cloud" theme...maybe hang a Pooh with a small umbrella from the ceiling. Or do something with the bees/honey theme.

I like the idea of English tea party-style food...in addition to honey, I think of carrots (Rabbit's garden), so you could include that as well.

Sorry I don't have any more ideas...good luck! :)
