Do you give Christmas tips to the people who provide regular services to you and your family during the year?

Sandra

Yes I do.
I never know what to give my "mailman" so it's usually a Tim Hortons card....so he doesn't have to carry anything bigger....My mailman never carries his bag...just his stuff loose which I think he isn't supposed to do but ..whatever.
My papergirl I usually give $ to in a christmas card.
Can't think of any others.
My daughter is in highschool now so we don't give the teachers there anything....too many to buy for.
This year I get to tip at disney seeing as we will be staying over christmas...so I am tipping even more to my mousekeeping staff than we normally do especially on christmas day!! :santa:

Well, we never see who delivers the paper (we only get a local one so we never see the carrier at the door to collect payment). We collect our mail at the big box at the end of the street so we don't see our carrier often so I leave a box of Quality Street (just a little one) and a gift card for coffee in the box with a card so she knows it's for her. When I start my baking I'll make small bags of cookies to hand to any couriers (rarely see the same guy more than once) and will give some to the FedEx and UPS guys with coffee cards when we see them. We work from home so we see all these guys pretty often. If I actually have time to get to the hairdresser in December I'll double up on the usual tip.

Myself being a service provider, I truely appreciate a good tip. So I always give good tips. Personally, I prefer cash or gift card tips at Christmas. Not to say that I don't appreciate the thought and effort that goes into the gifts I receive but most of the time I can't use the things that people give me. I don't drink wine and I always get several bottles and there are only so many chocolates and cookies that I can eat.

We try to go south after New Years every year so the extra cash always goes to a hotel upgrade or extra special dinners. I really, really get to enjoy my Christmas tips that way.

We always have 2 Christmas cards with tim GC in it for our garbage men - we have 2 since we sort - they really are good and will take almost anything from us. Don't tip the paper boy as it's my ds and I help him often enough that I don't feel I need to :lmao: Saw my hairdresser yesterday and doubled her usual tip and gave her a container of caramel shortbread since we had been talking about it at our last appointment. And lastly our mail comes to a big box across the street so I usually leave a timmies card in there for them too!!

Newspaper carrier - Timmy's gift card. We leave it in the mailbox the night before as they do not collect at the door so we never see them.

Mailman - don't bother. We have a community mailbox.

Daycare centre staff- take in baking or other treats

Teacher - Timmy's gift card

hairdresser - always tip when I get my hair done. Do nothing different at Christmas.

Don't have a paper person, give mail man a timmies card, if I make it to the hairdresser she gets a larger tip, dayhome provider gets a bonus rather than a tip and she also gets a small gift the girls make. teachers - our gifts vary each year. this year they are going to get movie certificates.
