OT chi flat iron

Guys does anyone out there own a CHi flat iron. I just bought one off ebay and specifically asked was this the original farouk and they told me it was. Well I get the box and it has farouk systems on it but the flat iron itself has global beauty network wrote on the top of it? Can anyone explain this to me? Thanks

Looks like you got the right one. I have one and it's what mine says (got mine at Trade Secret)...never, ever did I think I would spend that kind of money on something like that (I spend nothing on myself, just a pure cheapskate) but it is awesome. Good luck,

The ones that are used at my salon also say Global Beauty and they are Chis.

I completely agree with amsafko, mine has the same mark on it (from my salon). I have had mine for nearly 3 years and I *LOVE* it. One of my best purchases.

I bought mine off eBay several months ago and it has the same markings as yours. I'm pretty sure they are the "real deal". I absolutely LOVE my flat iron - I find myself using it pretty much every day instead of my regular curling iron. I have pretty straight hair already, but the iron tames/finishes it. While they aren't cheap, they certainly are worth every penny!

I've never heard of these....how well do they work on wavy, frizzy as all get out on humid days hair? I could use a new flat iron as mine keeps frying my hair

Just be on the lookout for phony Chi irons on eBay. My Mom bought one last summer and suddenly the ceramic part started chipping away and wasn't working right...she called Chi/Global Beauty and they confirmed it was a fake...she called the eBay lady (who by the way has sold thousands of them on eBay!) and the lady instantly refunded the visa she used to pay....just a heads up...there are a lot of fakes on eBay. I got mine at a local salon for only $99.

i bought two for dds christmas, they have certain days I believe, tuesday a.m. when you get a percentage off of everything in store. They also have the monthly specials with coupons in it, pick one up at the store. Got both for around $196.00 with no worries. i thought about ebay, but worried if it broke or something, i would have to pay for shipping it back.

I am also interested in one of these. I was also thinking of getting the MAXI GLIDE. Can anyone tell me the difference? I saw the infomercial for Maxi Glide and it looks awesome! It's a pretty penny, too.

And for those with frizzy hair, THIS MADE YOUR HAIR PIN STRAIGHT IN THE ORLANDO HUMIDITY?!? I have GOT to get one of those!!!

I bought my Chi at a salon for $125. After 2 years of hard use it broke. The distributor that sold it to my salon is having it replaced free. I am not sure if this a Chi thing or a distributor thing. I did have to have my original box. For anyone considering a flat iron, it is well worth the money. I think it is the best one on the market!

I also would like to know which flat iron is better MaxiGlide or Chi and why?
I had a maxiglide that broke and I need another. Does the Chi have the little comb teeth(????) like the maxi glide, steam...I really need one for my trips to Orlando and Puerto Rico HELP!!!!

Just wanted to say that we bought one for my daughter last year and one day it just quit working. Because this was a very expensive purchase (for my family), I kept the box and receipt in case there was a problem. I took it back to Penny's where we bought it and they exchanged it on the spot, no questions asked. I was so impressed that they stood behind their product and didnt give us the run around. Just wanted to share.

I was going to ask the same thing. I imagine it must be pretty damaging to use on you hair everyday. What products do you use to protect your hair?
