OT - Cheap Vegas Flights?

Hi there

I know this off-topic, but I'm always hearing about cheap Vegas flights (either from Buffalo or Pearson or Hamilton), but I can't seem to find any. Are the cheap flights only last minute? And how last minute IS last minute?

Any suggestions? We're looking at going mid-October.

How cheap? Southwest is $99 one way from Buffalo and $80+ one way from Detroit. If you can catch a Ding fare it could be cheaper. Even with taxes it is still probably cheaper than flying out of Ontario.

I would agree that $99 each way from BUF is about as cheap as it gets. you have to book these as far in advance as possible. Vegas is not a destination that goes on sale very often. I have not seen a DING from BUF to LAS in about 6 months. I found that Delta had good fares but they had to be booked at least 4 months ahead. If you can fly during the week (not Fri - Sun) the fare with Southwest right now is between $99 and $149 each way for the winter months. If Rochester is an option AirTran is now offering direct flights to LAS.

If you are looking to get a flight from YYZ. Forget it. If you book in advance you will pay around $600 or more per ticket. If you try for a last minute ticket you won't get one because they will be sold out. Remember that if you are looking for a Canadian carrier from YYZ there are not that many any more(that go to Vegas). The US carriers charge just as much as the Canadian ones plus they will have a connection somewhere.

Also, you have far more options for flight times if you book from BUF (or an US city). I think SW has about 6 flights daily from BUF to LAS.
