5k :faint: i don't think i could run for 5 mins.

I did the race for life 2 years ago - and I am very very unfit. I walked the whole 5 miles but there were tons and tons of people who walked slower than I did and it felt FANTASTIC to finish....and even better to stand there and watch a couple of thousand people come in after me.

i did it a few years ago as well and walked most of it. It was a fantastic feeling to finish and I ran the last bit as I was determined to run over that finishing line.
It was a fantastic experience

Oh I didn't realise you could walk it, now that i can do, especially as i do not drive and have to walk everywhere anyway.

:rotfl2: I haven't run anywhere in about 20 years. :rotfl2:

Doh! Just realised I said 5 miles - it is of course 5K. Much more manageable.

I followed weight watchers last year for my sisters wedding and lost nearly a stone but i found it soooo boring counting points all the time.
What is slimming world like? is it the red day, green day one.?

I couldn't get on with WW, but my sister has done brilliantly on it. SW is red/green day and apparently now you can mix both, a colleague explained it to me, but it sounded very complicated which puts me off.

...... looks and tastes like cardboard its proberly ok

Are we talking about ScanBran ? I've found if you mash a banana onto one and leave it for about 24 hours it's almost edible.

evening all.

was trying to be really good but had subway for lunch.

One has just opened up around the corner from work and the smell of the bread wafts in everytime someone opens the door, makes it hard to refuse.

I'll be 40 in June and frankly it's bad enough being 40 without being fat as well.::yes::

I couldn't agree more being both and that's not all everything else falls apart too, in the last 2 years since I turned 40, I've been to the GP's more times with different problems then I had done in the previous 39 years, as my mother kindly said to me yesterday, when she saw my new glasses "You know you're getting old now !" - yep thanks a lot mum.

I'm planning putting him for yet another bath in a wee while, see if that helps...its going to be a long night.

Hope he starts to improve soon, poor thing, it's horrible and worrying when you have a little one ill.

I havent run anywhere since November - when that rope dropped we needed to get to BTM as fast as possible :rotfl:

Evening all !! Blimey, it feels as if I haven't been on the boards for ages! I don't get to spend as much time catching up with posts during the day these days. Grrrr. This isn't right... stuff getting in the way of my internet time :rotfl: . And I still have sooo many trip reports to catch up with as well.

hi guys..just off phone to NHS24 Joshuas temp has been in the 40s all day.... I have to take him up to the hospital in an hour if it doesn't go down! gave him nurofen and an ice pop..... hes had calpol all day and cool baths and I thought he was getting better for a whole of an hour:rolleyes:

I hate him being ill, it scares me because I don't know what to do!

Really really hope his temp comes down soon . It might be just a 24-hr thing. My friend's son had it just recently. He was really hot for one day and then the next day, he was absolutely fine again:) .

I have just seen on the news that the pound is at the lowest rate against the dollar since 1985. Why oh why did i not buy some last year when it was at 1.80:sad:

How's the Euro looking against the pound? (wince wince)

I keep praying for a turn around but it doesn't seem to be happening. :(

It just seems to be getting worse. i am so glad i got the free dining plan or else i would seriously be considering cancelling right now.
The holiday itself is costing enough,if i had to worry about money for food as well then i probably would not be able to afford to go.

Hi guys,
Talking of the dollar, I am so pleased we decided not to change our dollars back when we returned in the summer. Although we didn't bring that much back we did get them at $2 to the £. One thing we noticed, even at the $2 to the £ rate was that things even then seemed so much more expensive than on previous visits to the USA. I am really hoping it picks up again over the next year for when we go in 2010.

Wow, where do you live now? that would be great if you could move...have you seen the gorgeous old properties on the outskirts? my gosh that would be great!!!I think I would need 3 full time jobs to pay for them though! I'll stick with my wee house that falling apart..but hey a girl can dream!!

Good luck with it all though!!!:thumbsup2

I always wanted to marry a sheep farmer from Skye!:rotfl:

We live in North Northumberland.... We don't have enough money for anywhere fancy, we just want something with a roof and some walls.... Lol!

We really fancy Edinburgh though.... Robert's really taken with it!
