Afternoon all. I am very jealous of those off to the Magic this week.

Is it me, or has January been here for about 6 weeks already? I can't believe it's another 2 weeks until payday. :sad2:

Hello all! Gosh I'm tired! We've been to the Metro Centre today! We had a Nandos and good look round.... I got a bargain dress in Monsoon (£95, down to £28.50) and a Bolero (£10.80, down from £40!)....

I also got two new Pandora charms.... I got a Swan to represent my engagement to Robert (He proposed by a river with lots of Swans!) and a gorgeous black pearl charm....

And.....

I got my wedding ring today! We went into H Samuel today, to see the one I liked.... I looked at it, and I wasn't as taken with it as I'd hoped. The lady behind the counter then showed me another ring, that she thought would match my engagement ring.... Oh my word, she was right! It was stunning, and it matched my engagement ring so perfectly.... I loved it. It was a white gold band, set with diamonds in the top... It was reduced from £225 to £109, so it was a sign! :lmao: It was also the only one they had left in the shop (And the style has been discontinued, so its one of the few left!), so its being resized for me, and we'll pick it up next week. I can't wait....! I shall post a photo as soon as I get it (There isn't a pic on the website that I can show.... :guilty: ).....

We also got all the stuff for making our wedding invites today!

That sounds wonderful Bob - both your bracelet which I love and the wedding band. Funnily enough I'm looking at wedding bands at the moment as when we got married almost 12 yrs ago we had hardly any money (our wedding cost us £52 - the cost of the registry office!) and my wedding ring was £20. It got very uncomfortable a few years ago and I haven't worn it. I ordered some Goldsmiths vouchers with Clubcard points and I will get a new ring soon. Although actually they are a lot more expensive than H Samuels anyway...

I am really excited! I just can't believe I found the perfect ring after only looking in a few shops. I just knew it was the one because I didn't even want the ring I'd been desperately hunting for once I'd seen it....

Do you have an idea of what you want for your wedding?

We haven't been looking at houses as much at the minute. We need to wait until I graduate.... Looking at the housing market though, I think we'll find something within our budget quite easily..... We have enough for a deposit on somewhere small, and we're willing to do it up, so we're pretty confident....

....Having said that, Robert now fancies moving around towards Edinburgh, so it may be a bit harder, but what the hell, eh?! Might as well go for our dreams!

Oh I wish I'd known you'd been going! We could have all gone for a cuppa! :goodvibes

We went in the Disney Store too.... Robert is desperately trying to find an Uncle Pete toy, but he also got rather excited by a pink glittery Hannah Montana cap.... :headache:

Did you buy anything at the Metro?

I'd prefer white gold but my engagement ring is yellow gold with a sapphire in the centre and (tiny tiny!) diamonds around it so I have to go for yellow gold and quite a plain band, anything else doesn't go at all. And I still don't have that much money to spend although more than £20!

That sounds lovely :goodvibes I am firm believer that its the style/meaning of the ring that is far more important than the size of the diamonds :)

me three lol i love my engagemnet ring and it wasnt expensive but i love it more then any thing else obv nto as much as DFi lol

The cost of my wedding ring probably wouldn't cover the cost of the bride's frilly garter nowadays! :rotfl:

I have finally told my daughter that we are staying at the Hotel New York next month. :cool1: Up until now she thought we were back at the Holiday Inn. I can finally change my ticker.
