OT: ChaCha

After numerous problems last night, it suddenly picked up, and I got about 25 questions in a row, then in got quiet again and I logged off.

When do you find out if you made Top Guide, and where? Would they send something to your email?
I haven't gotten anything in emails about QC's (though I think some of my answers may have been off the mark -I get a lot of "homework" type questions, hard ones too, like physics and LSAT prep, and can't always give a good response so I probably deserve it).

TG list is up, I hit 99.0%, 593 searches, and 99.7%. So I'm safe for now.

I just returned from WW last night and have to scramble to get my 200 in before Sat midnight.

I really don't want to go back to work but vacations over and it's time to get back to my real life persona as Mom, money earner!

I have not had any issues with flow - I think the system works great now and is back to back for me...

I am a bit baffled this week - I got 3 QCs - but my QC rating was a 100% - I was really worried about making top guide but can't figure out how I got a 100 when I had 3 QCs -one might be in next weeks but the other two would definatly have fallen into this week. I have never had below a 100 QC even with QC emails - can someone explain that to me?

If your QCs are minor, like for presentation, and your numbers are high enough, you can still make 100% (rounding up).

Yeah, and I see the 0%/0% at the bottom too. I wonder if it's spammers. I hope they weed those out. Maybe it's a noob who doesn't know that abuse and abort count against them?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong here. I started with Chacha last Saturday, which means my first full week would be from last Sunday to this coming Saturday, right? So I wouldn't know if I made top guide until next Thursday? I've already answered something like 370 questions (can only do it p/t in the evenings after work or on weekends) and have never gotten a qc, so I think I should make it, just want to know when I should start looking.

Mine is off as well, I think it's missing my Monday completions. Since I didn't do any on Sunday, I don't know if that is missing on anyone else's count.

Thankfully I haven't had to hunt for a car or sport related question all week since my categories are in effect. I also haven't had to deal with hardly any xplicit questions.

I feel the same way. I dreaded any car, sports or math related questions. LOL

I was on last night for three hours and got 10 questions!!! I've set up my categories/interests everything.

Now I'm just sitting here waiting for a ding. Don't tell the 20 question limit isn't hurting traffic.

The 20 question limit, the automated answers.. all hurting the guides.

I've been on for over 2 hours and have gotten 3 questions. It's freaking ridiculous. It's not even worth my time. And how they think you can possibly complete 200 questions a week at that rate is beyond me.

I can't believe they would have to do this right before the holidays when everyone is trying to save for Xmas and Chanukah gifts. I've been riding this out for a long time with ChaCha, but I've just about lost all faith in them.

Exactly! That's what I'm doing this for, Christmas money so my DH doesn't have to worry about it for once. But at this rate, I won't even get enough for stocking stuffers!

Yup, I was on for about an hour last night around 11 pm e.s.t. -usually questions come b2b at that time, but I sat there for an hour, NADA. And I had most of my catagories set up too. The 20 question limit has to be having an effect -I started with Chacha last week, about 2-3 days before it went into effect, and I couldn't keep the questions from coming in. Now, I can hear crickets chirping. So much for making extra cash.

I've actually had a pretty steady flow of questions today. I was on for about an hour this morning and answered 40. Yesterday I didn't get a single question so I spent a couple of hours updating my interests and this morning is better.

I have to say I had become dependant on making at least $30 extra during school hours. In between my other job & cleaning & the multitude of other things we do during the day while kiddos are schooling. I have made $16 the past 2 days & my kids are due to walk in the door.
I don't know if it is the 20 questions or the catagories. I get no jokes, body part questions, very little who is..., & no magic 8 balls. All that is left of my easy questions is yellow pages & movie times I haven't gotten but a few of those.
Every question is taking me at least 3-5 minutes to answer. Questions are harder, usually Math or a multiple answer type questions. Defining Shakesphere plays in 160 characters or less...OYE!
I like a challenge, but getting to 200 & maintaining quality is going to be hard if it stays like this.

I've had my interests set up and tweaked them a bit today just for good measure. But no luck. I've answered about 6 now so far. To make matters worse, a few times when a question came in that was a specialist question, I clicked accept and nothing happened! Ugh. So frustrating.

I detest the math questions. Almost as much as the car and sports ones. LOL I'd rather answer private body part questions all day then have to think about math.

I agree about reaching 200 though. For the first time I am worried I might not make it. Not at this rate.

I only did 9 questions all day yesterday. I was trying to get as much as I could before we leave for Disney on Tuesday, but I guess there goes my vacation money.

I was just reading the ChaCha forums and an employee had posted about the problem with the slowness. According to him it is a system issue & all the guides tweaking their categories is "choking" the database. (Is this where I mention they were the ones who sent out the email telling everyone to add catagories? )

Unfortunately, he didn't say when it would be fixed, but hopefully it will be soon!
