No I am a paid guide and today was my first attempt. I answered about 20 questions with one being over 10 minutes. I had thought that you were suppose to time out after 7 so that someone else could answer.

Tell me something you know when you get the history of the questions that were asked before on the right side.. How does that really help you with the current query that comes in? I really couldn't figure that part out. I know I remember looking there at one point and it had the same question I had previously answered but it had a different answer to it. Cira

I don't read those questions every time, but I glance frequently. It helps on the conversational questions, when they ask for "more", or if you just can't find a answer, sometimes they've been asking a series and you can find the link the previous guide used (and get more answers there).

I am taking forever to answer questions. I thought the system times out after so long? :confused3

In the KB, it states you will time out after 10 minutes and it will route to another guide. I haven't had that happen yet, despite going over 10 minutes a few times. It still lets me send the answer and I still get paid. Must be a bug. If I'm approaching 7 minutes though, I give them the closest answer I can find and move on before it has a chance to time out -- but mainly for those wacky questions they're asking for kicks. If it's legitimate, I try to the end to get them the right info.

Thank you so much for the info. Do I just click on the question and answer and then what happens? So sorry for all the questions. I still haven't received an answer if I passed or not. I got a question about how to get from one place to another and I didn't write out the answer not enough spce and I remember adding the link and send. I know that was wrong. Oh well!

I've gone close to 20 minutes and the question never timed out. :rotfl: There were some that I just kept digging and digging because I knew the answer was out there and just didn't want to give up.

Hey, Cira, where is Charles Town? It's not anywhere near Charleston is it? I'm a WVU graduate. :goodvibes

Hi there,

I just recently moved to Charles Town from Odenton, MD just 3 months ago. Charleston, WV is like 2 1/2 hours away I believe. I am located in the Eastern Panhadle. Have you heard of the Charles Town Races & Slots? We are like 4 miles from there.

Click on "details" and a box pops up with the last question(s). You can scroll through them to see the full text and click on the links provided.

Have you rechecked your question listing to see if it still shows "training" or $0.10 under dollar amount instead of $0.00? That's how I found out.

yes I checked just now again and all the questions says training next to them. I did 14 12 last night and 2 more earlier today. One of the test ? was asking me to give them directions from How do you get from The Conrad Hotel or something like that. I had no idea how to give the directions with that limited space. I just linked it and sent it and realized I screwed up. How should I have handlesd that one? Can you tell me?
Thanks!
Cira

I'm closer to the northern panhandle, so I'm not all that familiar with the eastern panhandle.

For directions, the best thing to do is abbreviate them and fit as much as possible. If you can't fit it all in, you would type *MORE* and let the next guide finish them up.

Oh ok... I am not familiar with WV at all. But I love it over here already.

So I type more at the end of the message? And how would the other guide know to continue? Sorry Just wondering in case I am accepted.
Thanks

During the readiness test must all 10 questions be done in one sitting? should/can I sign out and finish later?

I don't like how the people are asking questions for the sake of making your search almost hopeless. I got one asking how many presidents drank apple cider vinegar daily.

Just yesterday I got this extremely hard question, they were asking what the name of the guitarist was in a band with no name that plays in their local church... I know right.

I searched for the church's official website and looked through every staff/after school activities/events/classes/etc and found nothing. Then I went to MySpace, searched up the church name and found the trumpet player. Not only that, I had to make sure their location correlated correctly to the Infoseeker's location to make sure it was the same church. Then I searched through all his friends and finally found the name of the guitarist.:scared:

Google, with any amount of code, will never be able to do that, which is why I think ChaCha is offering something very unique to its users.

I was trying to take some questions tonight and when I click ok to accept the question it tells me I took too long. I had to log out... Not sure if it is not working still.

Have you started your test yet? I believe you can hit away to not get a question but I am not sure if you could log off and come back. I think you can but I am not sure. I hope someone answers you soon.

Best of luck!

You can do it over several sittings. I answered more than 10 questions. I know it says they only grade 10, but I messed up the first 2 and someone on the forum suggested I do 15. My type A personality forced me to do 20 ;) . I think it helped with my getting accepted.
Good luck!

When the IS sees the "more," they will send another message with "more please" or just "more" so the next guide will know to look at the history to see what to follow up on. There will be a link that the previous guide used, so you can go right to the website they used for the info. :thumbsup2

Thanks for your help. I still haven't heard from cha cha. I answered a few more questions and hopefully that will help me.

I didn't get my email until after I had been answering live questions for a few hours. Check earnings to see if you are on yet, you never know.

I got my first two QC feedbacks, both because of citation. One I used Yahoo answers and the other I used Wikipedia. They were questions from right when I started, so I expect to get a few more. Why are wikipedia and wikianswers/yahoo answers not okay, but urban dictionary and imdb are? They're all user generated content. And IMDB can be as inaccurate as wiki. It's great for stuff that's already released, but the upcoming projects part is pretty woeful.

Just found out that I did make TopGuide for my first week. So...can someone explain does this mean I get 20 cents for this weeks queries or next weeks? Just a little confused since it is still showing up as 10 cents under my earnings.

Thanks so much!
