I am so happy that they have lowered the minimum requirements. My baby is due September 21, and I was starting to get nervous about taking time off and having the pay cut. I now have time to plan for it!

What new guide console are you talking about? Everything looks the same to me. Were we supposed to download something new?

In the announcement there is a video of the new expeditor console and they are also rolling out a new guide console. Right now it is the old one but it looks like they will roll out a new one and everything seems to link right from there. It does appear it will be cut down search time.

I am intrigued by the expiditor role but I don't want to take a chance on it and give up my guide role. My sister is thinking about doing ChaCha - maybe she will apply for expeditor and we can see which is better then commit one way or the other.

I am soooo happy about the changes! I was 17 questions away from 300 on Sat. night and had 3 hours to do my 17, but couldn't because the system was down. I was so PISSED! Now I am just crossing my fingers that I made the 95% accuracy.

I may have posted mis-information - I thought Top Guide announcement was supposed to be today, but it looks like it might be tomorrow.

For the "bye" week, you have to average 800 searches in any 4 week rolling period (plus the accuracy) to keep the 20 cents. So if you're planning on taking a week off, you would need to do extra searches over 200 in the weeks around the vacation. That was my understanding of it anyway.

And maybe it's just me, but since the new pay policy was announced, I do feel like the answers I've seen in history have been a LOT better & I haven't been linked back to an inadequate source once. I don't know for certain that the new policy is the cause for this, or if its just coincidence - either way, it's better!

That's good to know. Maybe they are doing a better job of getting rid of those guides who were scamming them. Seems like that would have solved a lot of their problems to begin with, but I don't think their QC is where it needs to be to handle everything.

What do you do when you are completely stumped & can't find an answer?
For example...I had a math problem that would have taken me about 20 minutes to figure out & even then would have been a guess. I would have lost 20 minutes of other questions I could answer normal speed.
My question was...What is the population of the people living in the Eastern time zone of the US? Canada? now minus the population of Florida? What portion of those people left are voting in November as registered republicans?

Why can't I just say wait 'til November? LOL!
Wonder what he was drinkin'? Canadians don't vote!

Ok, I just got QC'd for using the jokes in Quick Links! I'm right & they're wrong...and judging by the forum posts on chacha, they're getting a LOT of wrong QC's. Another guide got the same email as me, and she used the same source page....the MOD over there said she was right.

Just beware...someone brought up over there that they felt they were throwing all these QC's at people to stop them from being top guides so they don't have to pay! Of course the Mod said no, but it seems to make sense.

I replied to QC that they were wrong & asked them to re-evalute, so we'll see what the response is! They'd better do it in time for Top Guides!!

As for the response to my post over there regarding the quicklinks, here's the mod's response:

I got my first QC yesterday. I deserved it though. It was about a week ago and it asked how many athletes were in the Olympics. That's before I got smart and used Wiki without siting them.

I have had a tough week this week! I've gotten some really really hard questions that are taking a long time and/or I can't find them. I've done a ton of searches already, but I'm still worried about making top guide for next week (heck, for this coming week even now that I got the QC. Don't know if that question was this week or last).

I am still undecided on whether I will stick with chacha. I'm only making about $5/hour and then I have to figure the taxes in that. I'm thinking my time is worth more than that. I will also be mad if I don't make top guide and only get paid 10 cents per question.

I posted it on the chacha forum and someone replied that I should have used google maps and given them the closest skate park to orange park. It is my opinion that it still does not answer the question.

Why would a skate park need a phone number? Isn't it just a place to go skate? I didn't see anything wrong with the answer. I would have answered the same.
Someone asked me which subway they should take in NYC to get from X to Pennstation. LIKE I can figure out NYC subway system in less than 5 min? I used google maps & gave them walking directions it was less than a mile away. I figured maybe they didn't realize how close they were?

Just found it. I was having no luck for a few minutes, then I thought to search "Orange Park Skate Park" on Google and AHA!

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah I got my email this morning. I was accepted. I passed my SIM test. My email says I will be making Apprentice pay rate. What is that? With all this new pay rate information on the site. I am having trouble finding this. I thought the probation rate was .15, but now I am seeing something about if you do not make Top Guide you make .10. I am really confused.

Lynnandbyz--Hurry up and do some texts! You'll make .15 until noon, and then .10 from noon until noon next Thursday (assuming you can do 200 texts by Sat at 11:59PM.) Then next Thursday if you did 200 texts, 95% accuracy/completion, you'll get a raise to .20.
