Thanks for answering so quickly! I figured I wouldnt be able to, but im going to be working 2 part time jobs as well as school so I thought it was worth a shot asking. Thanks again!

The upside is that if you become a guide, you could work as much or as little as you want, whenever you want. If you spend 1 hour a day, you'll make about $150 per month (at $5/hour). It *would* be hard to study & ChaCha (I can't even Disboard and ChaCha at the same time!) - but 30 minutes of ChaCha might be a good study break. Just a thought - you sound like you're pretty busy though! Once my classes start again, I'm wondering how much ChaCha time I'll have!

I keep getting messages that say Stop or Please stop. I dont want to abort them and reply to the person that we only answer when they text. The forums and help are down over there.

has anyone else ever had this problem?

Don't abort - that'll just send them to another guide.

Tell them to text "Stop" to 242 242 with no signature.

I usually tell them they can also just stop texting - but that if they text us (except for that Stop as above), we have to answer.

I've only gotten that a couple of times though.

Quick question. I signed up yesterday and passed the first part. I'm going to print out the guide manual and study. How long/hard did you all study that information before taking the simulator part? Is it that difficult?

In the forums, there is a thread that says Guide in Training Look Here. Or somthing like that.

Anyway, the first post has links to all the info you need to pass the test. The video is essential, but the other links have tips on formatting your question and where to find queries that they get all the time. I just read all that stuff and looked at the text video a few times.

I got a bunch of PLEASE STOP messages last night too. I was wondering if it was a system thing or if it was just the first time I was getting them I have the FAQ saved on a PDF on my computer so I just copied and pasted their canned answer about texting stop to unubscribe...then I realized that the ones that just said STOP were probably people trying to unsubscribe but the system was sending them to the guides! OOPS.

On the up side, my husband and kids were gone on a camping thing yesterday from mid afternoon until just a bit ago. The baby went to stay with Grandma. I got my house cleaned in the afternoon and ChaCha'ed late in to the night. It stayed busy busy the whole time and I ended up making quite a bit!

Has anyone been doing this long enough to know what the question volume is like when school is in session? Most seem to come from teens so I'm wondering if it's really going to die off once school starts again?

Has anyone else actually tried using Cha-Cha since becoming a guide? My husband started using it since I became a guide and the links he gets are usually total crap! I'm so annoyed at the people who don't use real links!! I could answer more questions too, if I just used chacha.com for every answer. Grrrrr!!

I had an issue last week where someone gave a totally believable bs answer and when the person texted more , the guides link was to ChaCha.com, come to find out the answer he gave was way off , it had nothing to do with the members actual question...

The universe never went down. the underground did. and it will happen again at 355 central. they have been troubleshooting the slow issue. it never affected the universe though. i have been making plenty of money all afternoon.

CathrynRose, I am in the universe now so it seems to be working but the underground has this note: "3:55pm EST. The Underground will be down a few minutes for maintenance. This may result in loss of navigation to the KnowledgeBase and Forum."
