I just finished my simulator test - it was a blast! I can't wait to hear how I did!

HI EVERYONE I'M HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE CHA CHA TEST I GOT AN INVITATION TO BECOME A GUIDE I FINISHED MY TEST IN LESS THAN A MINUTE AND THE WHEN MY TEST WAS DONE IT DIDN'T SAY FINISH IT STARTED OVER AND KEPT GETTING STUCK GOING BACK AND FORTH TO THE FIRST AND LAST PAGE SO BY THE TIME I FINISED THE TEST FOR THE SECOND TIME IT TOOK ME FIVE MINUTES BECAUSE IT KEPT MESSING UP SO I DON'T THINK THAT IS FAIR BECAUSE I PASSED MY TEST IT WAS THEIR SITE FAULT FOR MESSING UP NOT MINE SO WHAT SHOULD I DO CAN SOMEONE PLEASE LET KNOW THANKS....

Same thing with me and when I finally got done with the test, it said Sorry you do not meet our guidelines for Cha Cha guides or something like that. It was their system that kept messing up and putting behind time////

I'm curious about the re-applying as well actually. I've been putting off taking the tests since I've been so busy with work that I don't think I'd concentrate enough on it and I want to make sure I don't mess up lol

If I remember correctly from reading about this elsewhere, if you fail the initial screening you can just clear your cookies and try again with a different email. By the time you take the simulator you've had to give them your personal info and that has to be right because you are going to get a 1099 form for your work, not to mention for banking info to get you paid. So if you fail the simulator and you feel like it had something to do with technical errors, contact them and ask for a 2nd chance because in order to try again it would have to be with someone else's identifying info and you don't want to do that.

Quick question. I signed up yesterday and passed the first part. I'm going to print out the guide manual and study. How long/hard did you all study that information before taking the simulator part? Is it that difficult?

I skimmed through the manual, looked at whatever links they told me to look at (on KnowledgeBase) and watched the videos. I spent maybe an hour over a couple of days looking at stuff.

It really wasn't hard - the best info I got from the handbook was how to deal with jokes/pranks and which sites you aren't supposed to use.

Don't sweat it too much - I'm sure you'll do fine!

I am enjoying doing this but at the same time the next time I get a question that says "who is Sam Smith?" I am going to have a very hard time not responding "I don't know, are YOU Sam Smith?" I had one today where when I looked at the history it had 3 questions all "who is ____" I responded back something like "there are lots of Sam Smiths. Can you give me more info? Where does he live? How old is he? Does he know Jane Doe and Mike Miller?"

I was accepted as a guide and passed the 3-part test last week. I have been petrified to take the simulator though!!! I've been looking over the handbook and getting ready to take it soon, though - I wan't to be a guide really badly!

In my opinion it would be difficult to study in between unless it isn't busy at all, which seems rare lately. Sometimes if you don't click on OK quickly someone else gets the search

Thanks for answering so quickly! I figured I wouldnt be able to, but im going to be working 2 part time jobs as well as school so I thought it was worth a shot asking. Thanks again!

One of the best things about this job as a part time job, is you don't waste any time going to and from it. I was talking to someone who was making $10 an hour but had to drive 20 minutes there and back. When you calculate commute time lost and gas money I am coming out ahead by sitting at home working ChaCha.

Is anyone else having trouble with ChaCha right now? I was in the middle of a search and got booted and I can't get back in. It was really hopping too! For a while now the KB and "my account" links have been giving 503 errors. I guess just too much traffic? Hopefully I'll be able to get back on in a bit!

On a separate note, would anyone be interested in posting the links they bookmark to use often? I know I have stuff like a distance calculator, pick up lines, random facts etc bookmarked b/c I use them alot. I am guessing others have the same sort of thing and I'd love to compare notes!

I was having problems earlier with slow response time, the site seemed to be dragging. A few minutes ago it booted me off and now it keeps giving me an error when I try to load the page, saying the server has been reset. I can get on every other site just fine. Anyone else having these problems? Thanks!

I keep getting messages that say Stop or Please stop. I dont want to abort them and reply to the person that we only answer when they text. The forums and help are down over there.

When I took to SIM test, I answered fun questions.......but I am scared to accept my first "real" question in fear that I will either a) mess up and not get it right OR 2) that it will just be something nasty. Is this normal to feel this way? Were you scared to accept your first real question??

When they do it, they can't have a signature line or any other character than "stop" in the message. So just tell them the proper way to do it.

Just jump right in! It takes practice to get better at it, and we all get questions that either offend us or we just can't answer. Just make sure to study how to answer PJS questions and you'll be fine!
