OT: ChaCha

if i may step in here to answer this (my apologies, meg) - when the question comes up and the guide clicks the "find an answer" button a quick links screen comes up. this screen is customized for the type of question (entertainment, sports, science, etc.). we have to assume this is done by the expeditor, as it was never done before yesterday. it slows things down for us, because the question may not be categorized correctly and we may need a link that's not on that screen. this has happened to me several times and it's really frustrating.

Ok, yea that is what we have to do, categorize after we clean the question up. I remember on the test I got one and had no idea...I should have googled what it was but speed counts...and we make less per question than guides (obviously).

I made Top Guide the previous 3 weeks. I did not make Top Guide this week. Shouldn't I still get the .20 per question because of their rule change?

I thought the rule was 4 weeks and for if you take a week off for vacation or whatever. Not for if you just didn't make top guide. did you ask in the forums? they would probably know better.

To attain top guide status, you have to do at least 200 searches a week (Sunday through Saturday) and have at least a 95% quality rating for those searches.

4boys - that is an interesting question. I assumed the rules were to allow for people to have a week off where they didn't do enough searches to qualify for Top Guide, so long as they averaged 800 searches over a rolling 4 week period. Did you not make Top Guide due to number of searches? Are you still making 20 cents per query today? I'd be interested to know that too!

I did do the number of searches. I ended up with over 300. I'm only making .10 right now. I'm pretty disappointed not to have made Top Guide considering I did the 3 weeks prior. Now, I have to answer double the questions to make as much. UGH. I did get my first quality control email the other day, but I guess there were more issues than just the one. Just weird since I felt like I've been getting better the longer I've been doing it. And I made Top Guide even my very first week. Oh well. Too bad I don't get as many queries with the new system (yes, i've reworked my keywords). It'll take even longer to make money. UGH.

Sorry you didn't make top guide. This is my 3rd week in a row, but I've prepped myself in case I don't make it. If there is a week I don't make it, I'll just do bare minimums that week and catch up on my sleep. Then the next week I'll be top guide again and all will be well.

I must have missed some information on ChaCha and can't get into the forum, so I'm coming here hoping someone can help me with my question.

What happened to the "Cancel" button when you get notified of a query? Queries keep coming and if I have to take a break (usually for potty or to let the dog out), sometimes I can't change it to "Away" quick enough and I can't cancel the query. I don't even have enough time to logout. I've twice just closed out the window and I know that's going to count against me. What do you all do?

Okay, I have another question. On my dashboard is says my earnings are $14.10. On the summary page it says $36.70. How can they be different? Which one is correct?

When that happens to me, I just leave the notification up on the screen. Another guide will take it and when you finally click OK, you *should* just get that message.

That's what I do but I've been doing it since I started. I just find it easier that way.

Isn't this only the 3rd week that they have announced top guides? I think that you can't be eligible for the 4th week to keep top guide status until next week b/c that is when the new program of top guide bonus pay will be in effect.

I do this a lot too. I click the "start search" button to get that page open and then I search Google. That way you have the save this page option.

I just got an email form ChaCha about my guide status for last week:

Total Searches: 542


Quality Score: 100 %


Percent Completed: 97 %

is this why I can't get in the 100% drawing? It aggravates me to no end

- so they do count the time outs and interruptions against the guide even if it's on their end- I just can't win!

Also, they finally got my earned $ totals straightened out and YET AGAIN- THEY STOLE SEARCHES from me- so far from last month to this week it totals over 376 -*gone*

My total correct .20 per search total was $288.00 earned and today I log in and poof- I'm magically denoted down to $222 and it was all at .20, the messed up pay glitch did not affect me.

- that a good bit of money, I've been meticulously checking every day after I quite searching and keeping a written tally of my totals. I've emailed them every day and they aren't responding. So, I keep working because we really need the money even though I know they are scamming me.

I'll just have to try to ignore this and keep working on my answers. I just don't find it fair that they have system problems and I get punished for it!

I'm assuming you're talking about if you still go through ChaCha, right? It should be on your tool bar if you do.

I rarely ever use the quick links, with the exception of the olympics. I used it a lot then.

Did anyone get the top guide email? I got it today. I wasn't top guide last week ( don't get me started!), so I don't know if it's new. But I like that it at least tells you your accuracy rating and completion. Mine was: 505 searches, 98.5% accuracy and 99% completion.
