OT: ChaCha

I had my first shift last night on KGB.

I got 3 questions in the entire hour I was scheduled but only got to answer 2 of them. I had them reviewed and both were satisfactory answers. One was an auto answer - and they actually put their suggested answer formatted redy to go and all I had to do was hit the send button and got paid - the other one was a quick research question but their suggested answers didn't quite give me the answer but did give me a source so I got the answer very quickly.

They went live yesterday so I figure it will take them a while to get the traffic ChaCha has but if they pick up - it would be great to be able to answer the quick ones one right after another!

I have another shift tonight so I will let you know how that goes.

I tried to become a ChaCha guide but tehy didn't like my answers so no dice there. This was several months ago.

I just passed my first level of KGB training so hopefully I will get in there.

I logged on this morning and I had a direct deposit confirmation from ChaCha from my bank. So hopefully, everyone will get paid today!

I am an expeditor but I do think traffic has picked up considerably for me at ChaCha. The first month (November) I barely made it to the $100 mark. Last month, easier. This month I am already 1/2 way there and it is only the 21st of the month.

Yes. I got paid too! :cool1: :cool1:

I've almost got my Disney trip paid off. Now I need to work on adding the dining plan!

I worked a 2 hour and 45 minute shift last night on KGB and made 40 cents. I only researched one question and the rest I got paid 5 cents for - when you get the questions - it is actually pretty easy but the traffic just isn't there yet. I will keep working to stay active but there is no way it can replace ChaCha right now but i definitely want to stick with it as a backup

I just got a QC for an okay answer...that just makes me mad and that is how they are going to stop from paying us top guide.

I just scheduled my first 2 shifts on kgb, first one being on the 27th. I'm hoping it will go ok.

So, I haven't done ChaCha in a while, mainly b/c I had not gotten paid and was concerned that I wasn't going to, yadda, yadda, yadda. Got paid last month and would really like to try to become an expediter. Can I switch from being a guide to an expediter? I can only spend a couple nights a week doing it and think I could do better as an expediter.

Also, "heard" some people talking about KGB, what is that? :confused3

Sorry if my questions have been answered in pp, I haven't taken the time to go through the last few pages I have missed.

TIA!

Right now ChaCha is not allowing anyone to switch between rolls. Guides make so much more than ex's, even if you do not make top guide.
KGB is another service similar to ChaCha but they charge for their answers.

I got a QC today because of an OKAY answer as well. It was a definition question!!! How can you WOW someone when they want a definition to a word? Sheesh............they will do anything to knock you down!!!

I have taken my first 2 levels of KGB test. The one that everyone can take via the website got a total of 92% on it. Then today I was sent their training manual and given their test. scored 100% on it. I am now waiting for them to send me the link so I can do the simulation test.

KGB seems to be more through up front. I am more impressed with their way of doing things. There is a method behind it. With ChaCha both my sis and I did it at teh same time. Our answers were very similar she got offered a spot and I didn't . We never could figure out why. With KGB they tell you what they exepct up front. I still haven't found a pay rank with them. does any one know what it is?

Thanks Katiesmommy for the info. I guess I will continue being a guide. I just get frustrated sometimes when it takes a long time to find an answer, you are scared of getting a QC, and you know you are getting .10. I will plug away some more and once I get another deposit or two in my bank account, I will be happier.

I would be interested in more info on KGB if anyone would like to share pay grades, etc. :goodvibes

TKS!

At KGB you are an expeditor and guide all wrapped into one. If you do the equivalent of a ChaCha PAQ - you get 5 cents. If you research and answer you get 10 cents.

The website is KGBkgb.com.

They are slow right now since they just went live on Monday but I hope that picks up.

I posted a pretty long post about them a few pages back - I will try to pull it forward.

Here is the KGB info....

KGB is a text service that is just starting up in the US - it is the leading text service in the UK. The bad thing is that you have to sign up for hours so it isn't just like ChaCha where you just sign in whenever - but their reasoning is that if you are scheduled for a shift - you will be getting questions. You are an expeditor and guide all in one - and if you send a pre-answered question you get 5 cents - if you send your own answer then you get 10 cents - and I think their training and expectations are much clearer than ChaCha. I am waiting for my final acceptance but I am pretty sure that I will make it through b/c I saw my review - AND GET THIS - they tell you what is wrong with an answer - the reviewer makes notes under your question - like you don't need caps on that or stay under the 102 limit unless you have to go higher. From what I gather - when you finish a question available questions pop up on your screen and you pick which one will answer - there is a supervisor on duty at all times and you can flag a question to go through them for approval before going out - WITH NO PENALTY! You can PM your supervisor with questions about your current question and they will help you with it. AND if you can't find a question - you just tell them and don't charge them.

It is a pay per text service so I am not as concerned with them going belly up. My plan is to both right now and see which works best - or maybe they stay with both.

I applied on Monday night, got the invite to train yesterday morning, trained yesterday afternoon, got the simulation invite
today at 1:00 and finished it at 2:12, by 2:18 I had an email that my work had been reviewed and they would let me know soon - but I was given a link to look at my feedback and at the top the reviewer summarizes how you did - so I knew that my work was good from that.

At 8:40 tonight I got the Congrats email. I have 48 hours to fill out all the paperwork - my son has the flu so I am going to wait until tomorrow and once I have it all submitted then I will be scheduled for a shadow shift. Not sure if that means I watch someone eles or someone watches me work.

One good thing is that they won't have the players ChaCha has - there is no way people who are paying will put up with crap answers and if they have to give too many refunds for your answers you get fired.

I just finished my simulation for kgb_. I looked at my review. Was not happy that several answers went over 102 characters but on individual questions if I didn't go over 102 characters they complained that I didn't answer the questions fully. Can't win for losing. Guess it is a wait and see now.

Hi pigletforever! I took my kgb test but wasn't keeping track of how many questions I did. I'm pretty sure I did 10, but how do you know if it's over? The helpful info at the top that told me how to do everything for the questions quit coming up, so I thought it was over. I logged back in today to do another question just in case I had only done 9, but just can't tell!! I haven't received any email regarding the review either. What should I do?
