OT: Canadian Scrapbooking?

Tabetha - waving atchya from Calgary!!! Scrapbooking sure is popular here in Calgary with lots of our local artists featured in lots of the US magazines! I've been a diehard for about 8 years and now have more stuff than lots of the stores here. Good luck with your new hobby - it is very addicting and you'll meet tons of awesome people willing to lend a hand to a "newbie".

Well, we're back from our trip and are now in the process of putting together books for each of our parents (plus one for us!)

Scrapbooks by Design is a great store, here in T-dot, thanks for suggesting it! My sis and I went and stocked up, then took their "Intro to Fun" class.

And I scoured ebay for a long time last night looking for the perfect bargains to add to our books.

I'm hooked. Drat. I'm in trouble. We have a spare room, and I'm worried that somehow it'll magically transform into a scrapping room!

I love that store in T.O. Have to go back and get more Bazzill for my DCL CJ here on the DIS. I don't like my old cardstock anymore, I have become spoiled. And the rows of patterned paper, wow! LOL.

LOL, First it was WDW then Pin trading, which got us on the Wonder for the first pin trading cruise, which got us on the Magic for a seven day cruise, because 3 was too short. Then it was DVC along with digital photos, then scrapbooking. Now you have the path, follow it, young Diser.

If you are doing disney more than twice every two years, go DVC. We could have paid off 300 points by now. Instead we just have 150 and I want more, lol. We only stayed at mod and value, before and we love our DVC.

I went three times from October '04 to October '05, now i am grounded until the cruise in December. What i do wrong, ma?

Personally I find Creative Memories stuff very expensive, it is nice stuff,a nd you get what you pay for, I just find it over priced. I have been to Creative Memories meets, and have never bough anything, I was thinking about becoming a consultant myself but I can not afford to pay the 300 dollar start up fee.
Where is the Scrapbooks by Design in Toronto?

I'm going to a CM open house tomorrow, but just to look, just to look, really just to look.

It's at the rec centre and I'm bringing 7 y.o. dd just so I can't linger. Who knows, I may have to drag her out bec she is so into scrapbooking and we have only been into it for 3 months.

I am now a CMC! The start-up fee here is £95, which is half the value of the goods (the saleable goods, not the stuff like order forms!). I only had a party because I didn't know where to start - kept walking round Hobbycraft going do I need this? What is it anyway? I did get some good grab-bags off e-bay, but the postage makes it expensive even with a good exchange rate.

I've made my 1st level target and didn't need to buy more than half of it myself I doubt I'll do many classes, but I looked at some photos from my teens and lots had gone brown in sticky albums - and I'm not THAT old! So now I've got about 20 albums to sort through and redo (including 4 big ones of the kids PLUS 4 years-worth of photos still in packets

So I'll definitely be looking in the dollar store etc. in August. Are all the stickers etc. photosafe?

Mazda UK, I just assume that the stickers are photo safe especially if they are SandyLion stickers.

I'd have to agree with you about e-bay and some great online U.S. stores that have amazing deals even with the exchange rate but definitely the shipping costs are the deterent.

I found an online shop near my home where the prices are excellent. There is also no PST because she is located in Alberta, just 7% GST. It's great because I can pick up my stuff : no shipping costs and she even gives me an additional 5% off if I pay cash. It is called R & R scrapbooking. http://www.scrapbooking.ca/

I think you have to check about the stickers. I did this a few years ago when I first started scrapbooking (and I still haven't finished that first book!!!) and for the most part the Sandylion stickers were acid free. There were *some* that were not ... some special ones...that I can't remember. They had some special finish on them or something.

I used the e-bay store Heavenly Hugs and Kisses - great grab bags, I got a lovely Disney one. Well worth a look.

Hi. I know when we are down in Florida, I see daily scrapbooking shows on Tv. Must be nice.

Just to let yous all know------- Here in Paris, Ontario we are hosting a Friday night and all day Saturday, Scrapbooking show/event,. Friday/Saturday April 7-8.
Now I want to scrap.

It is popular here! We have a pretty good size group that we crop with weekly..at Dalcrafts! And I know lots of other people that scrap..just don't get to see them as regularily!
